Spent one night at the Calabogie Peaks Resort last weekend which we were not really impressed with. On the other hand the food produced from the Canthooks kitchen was excellent. The service was well above average, knowledgeable and friendly. The kitchen was accomodating with our one modification to a dish and the courses were well paced. We had the baked brie with a tomato relish to start which was great. For mains we had the veg risotto and the pickerel with beets/fennel/kale. Both were full of flavour and very satisfying! For desserts we had the espresso brulé and the toffee bread pudding which were very decadent and delicious.
