Canadian Tire

I don’t want this complaint to be offensive but rather informative to the manager of this store. I have been using this store for the last three years. And I must say, it is a well kept store with abundance of items, “rain checks” are rarely required. My issue is the following one; Cashiers, more so at the return counter, make the customer feel as fraudulent people.. In three occasions I had to return items that were not working at all or not working as design to. As I can see the policy at this store is to get a “technician” as far as I know, Canadian Tire does not have technicians that specialize in electricity or electronic (not counting technicians in the auto bay), so the so call “technician” (usually the person responsible for the aisles of the item) is called to come at the front of the store to have a look at it and try to make the item work, when the customer already said…. It does not work!. After a waiting period 20-30 minutes you get someone that really does not have a clue of the internal mechanism of the item to say It does not work…. Only then the customer is reimburse, this really make people feel deceitful and need to be address, if the so call technician need to inspect the item… this should be done once after the customer has fully and properly return the item, not on the customer time table. Lastly, cashiers are made to make sure all items are rung in, however going as far as questioning the customer or opening a seal item (Yes I typed sealed) to see if something has been inserted into it…. It is totally rude and uncalled for. We live in a society that the majority of the people are hard working and honest. If you have an issue with shoplifting, it should not be the job of your cashiers to deter such activity; there are people that can be employed for that type of job, whom are transparent to the customers. I do not put the blame on your cashiers as I know such directive comes from management…. This is for the management to solve. Please do fix this, I have decided to inform you because as I said it happen to me the last three times I have been there to return items and other people made the same comments about this rude practice at your store. Lack of inventory! Parts counter. It helpful. Customer service in general is very poor

staff are help full but layout is very tight and hard to navigate with a basket.
