I had a very frustrating experience at the auto customer desk. When I inquired about winter tires, the staff member was rude and unhelpful. I didn’t know the size of my tires and simply asked if they could check it based on my vehicle information. Instead of helping, he just said “no” and told me to go check the tires myself. I expected a little more assistance, especially since it’s their job to help with vehicle-related services. The attitude and lack of support were very disappointing.
Just a PSA, don't order online and pick up in store. Going on 45 minutes of waiting for someone to find my 4 tires and rims
High Level Alberta is pretty isolated from the comforts of a larger city but this Canadian Tire maintains reasonable prices and great selection to provide you with many things you may need. The staff are friendly and helpful and Rob the only mechanic is great and really cares about your safety. Excellent price on new tires which even beats Costco prices even though the nearest Costco is 5 hours away.
Don’t bother with curbside pickup, they’ll give you grief over & over again to come into the store to customer service to “sign” for your items. I wouldn’t have bothered doing the whole online order thing if it was going to be this hard. The item wasn’t even ready even though I got the email. Not sure if this was a delay tactic or they really don’t do curbside anymore and wanted me to come into the store. Anyways, curbside was a pain, save yourselves time, bad back or not to just shop for your own items.
Parts staff know next to nothing and are not properly trained parts people. How hard would it be for Canadian Tire to put a couple of staff through a parts person apprenticeship? The store is way too small for the amount of inventory they're trying to carry. Everything is packed in very tightly and hard to find sometimes as a result. There's nothing worse than having to chase down a staff member to grab you something off the top shelf.nnThere's definitely some positives though. They tend to carry slightly more inventory than Home Building. I find myself usually trying Canadian Tire first if I'm looking for certain items. If you manage to track down a staff member, they are very helpful. The staff are generally very upbeat, positive, and helpful.
