The staff were wonderful especially Laura who helped me renew my passport. She was kind, thorough and explained everything she was doing. Security let us in early before 08:30 so that we didn't have to stand outside in -20 which was greatly appreciated. Super fast and accommodating at a busy time of year. I was in and out in under 30 minutes with no appointment!
Drove up from Calgary and just WOW Gentleman at the front desk was really helpful and looked over my applications before putting me in que helping me correct so I won't get sent back to the writing table. Ivy served us for the passport application, super kind and nice. 10/10 worth the drive In and out in 30min Only negative was I was expecting a typical government office and paid for 2 hours of street parking pay with coins old school meters but with this experience I was happy to come out in 30min
I will be submitting a formal complait through Service Canada. I already called and had the forms sent to me. I had an appointment and wasn't even seen!!!!! The pen skipped on a signature and I was turned away without getting my appointment!!!! The woman at the front counter is horribly unprofessional, condescending and down right rude. The reviews make me question why this woman still has a job? What an awful way to treat people and what an awful experience. 10/10 Do not recommend. Go somewhere else.
The queue is common for all attenders. At the end, there are two women who process your docs and records the service type you need. It takes about 25 minutes if you begin standing by the exit. Next, you take a sit and wait for a specialist to call you. In general, it takes about 2 hours for you to get things done. That's quite a lot of time, but it's a common flaw of the world's bureaucracy system.
Conflicting information between the website, what they say on the phone, and what actually happens when you're at the centre. I understand there are delays and extenuating circumstances that are backing up the processing of a lot of government documents, but these problems only become more egregious without accurate information provided to population and lead to wasted time for your officials and for the general public. I even explicitly explained to the officer out front what I was trying to do before I went inside and she said I would be able to, only to be turned away by the very next person I talked to inside after waiting nearly an hourfor a reason that didn't line up with any of the information I had received from the website or other officers. Please educate all of your staff with the same information and try to clearly display that information to the public.
Came down from Edmonton to get my passport, I was in and out in 28 minutes LOL. this place is a gem. And the people who work here are beyond friendly. I'll come back here every time! Also, come during the middle of the week at 830am.
Went in today 2022 Sep 9 to renew our passports. The staff were absolutely WONDERFUL! Very professional, polite, considerate, and kind. Yes, we had a bit of a wait a little over two hours, but everyone from the Security staff to the Service Canada agent were expert at their jobs. Thanks to all the staff! I certainly won't hesitate to visit there again if the need arises.
I was so pleased with the excellent help I received when renewing our passports. Thanks especially to Ivy Lapointe!
EDIT: Elizabelle went above and beyond for me today to correct the errors and I really appreciate her. I'm adding a couple more stars because of her. Went to re new passport the other day. Waited 1.5 hours only to get a call today that they can't accept my application. Because I've been married since my last passport, I have to start from scratch with a brand new passport not a renewal? I've travelled with my birth certificate and two different names on my ID and passport and its never been a issue so not sure why I can't keep my madien name? It doesn't say this on the form anywhere and no one told me at the office. I went through THREE different staff members with this and not a single person told me it was the wrong form. Now I have to redo my passport pictures and start all over and no one can tell me if I'm being refunded or not. And now I will most likely have to cancel my upcoming trip.
We went down there right at 8:30am to get a new passport for my son and we were in and back out in 45 minutes. The employee who was outside speaking to every in the line up was extremely helpful and friendly and the agent who helped us was the same. I went expecting the worst but was so pleasantly surprised!!!
