Caldense Bakery

I always have a great experience visiting Caldense and returned for the chicken club sandwich. It’s made fresh to order and served on a Portuguese bun. They have many speciality pantry items as well as a large selection of pastries, desserts and baked goods. I’ve also ordered cakes from their extensive selection made fresh to order and it was incredible!

We travelled out of our way with high expectations. COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED. The corn bread we bought “fresh” was days old. Fell apart after cutting through the rock hard crust. UNEATABLE! We threw it all out to the garbage. Similar to the rude service received upon arrival. We will never return.

If I could get zero stars I would this place was one of my favorite places to come to to get a sandwich and for some reason something has changed. I don't know if it's because of COVID. The business has become very cheap now and they want to charge you for everything. I ordered a sandwich that's already costing me $8 and then additional if I want lettuce. It's 50 cents. If I wanted tomato it's 50 cents. If I want pickle it's 50 cents. They're charging for all of these sandwich condiments that you put on your sandwich separately which makes your sandwich now cost $10 or more. I would recommend anywhere else before this place

I used to dislike this place because the staff was impatient and had a bit of an attitude. The bakery has good stuff. It seems things have changed once the Portuguese cantine opened up. It is now a really nice place , the staff is super friendly and helpful. I tried the Portuguese food several times and always felt getting really good value for my money. Taste great. Whatever has changed, it was good! It is now my local bakery of choice.

Picked up Pasteis de Nata, excellent and crispy, flaky, pastry. Trying Tina's chicken later. The place is attached and spotless. Nice to visit an establishment with good quality and clean.

I ordered best of both worlds cake for my kid’s birthday party. So this cake is not available as a pastry and the photo which was available in the bakery shows a different design on corners. My concern when I first saw the cake was it’s finishing. As the corners had actual chocolate pieces instead of cream, the pieces were breaking and coming in the center. I also noticed the letter h was breaking. I understand that cake was made in a different location and was delivered, the commute might change its look. I didn’t like how the male employee took this information. He sounded aggressive. If I pay 122$ with tax for a 30-40 ppl cake I surely expect a near to perfect cake. I still gave 4 stars as the flavour of the cake was upto the mark, was loved by all the attendees and I even referred Caldense to parents of various kids who loved the cake. That’s why custome service is important should e an important part of training.

Let’s start with the cannoli. The cream inside is extremely delicious although the exterior flaky shelling could be better. Was a bit too crunchy and didn’t compliment the cream well. Maybe if I got a fresh one the results would be different. The horseshoe pastry I got is the same case. I didn’t really taste any popping flavour from it. Just powdered sweet bread from the taste disappointingly. The almond square is tasty and as you can see there is a generous helping of almonds all around which is always welcomed ;.

Expensive for the stale pastry on a Sunday morning. Cake was good but I got a majority of pastries and all were stale. I could understand the pricing if it was fresh. Walmart or superstore has at least fresher products if not great tasting

OMG SO GOOD. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. THE KINDEST WHOLESOME PEOPLE. THE NEW CHICKEN CLUB SANDWICH IS EVERYTHING and even dont to the bread for 80cents!!!! is the best thing you could ever have. EVERY charge is worth it GO. HERE.

So many desserts. And there is a hot food counter too. Very friendly staff
