This club sandwich was the only thing I’ve ever ordered twice , in a row, in my adult life . I usually pride myself on trying new things , but I could not escape its monster savory charm . Get extra napkins , this is a sandwich my grandma would say “you tuck into” Do yourself a favor and get it with the amazing rosemary bread . Ask for a side of whisper thin pickles. The service is efficient, the owner is hometown proud and donates locally as well as stocks her larder with hard to gather goodies like COUGAR GOLD cheese tins 3 kinds! . Run don’t walk to this lovely new downtown gem!
Oh my GOSH! This little deli is a rare find! U am currently eating a delicious Ruben sandwich and quality, tasty pickles. Their lattes are AH-MAZING! The coffee is so good, I had to have a some. I drink decaf and it is hard to fine a smooth roast. They nailed it with their locally sourced beans. I also left with a half gallon of raw milk. This little bodega is a GEM!
The Pumpkin Pie Latte is the best latte I’ve ever had in my life!!! I’m an avid coffee/latte drinker. I could drink this latte all day every day! They also have sandwiches and salads. And the staff is exceptionally friendly. I love this place and would definitely come back.
We were simply looking for a place with decent sandwiches when we walked into this lovely place. While ordering we had a pleasant conversation with all of the people who were working at the time. Then the sandwiches came….. WOW!!! They were all soooo good! I had the beef and cheddah on rye, I couldn’t believe what I was eating. I was not prepared for how good it was. My fiancé had the turkey pesto on rosemary, she was amazed. Our friend who was with us is a chef. She had the club sandwich on rosemary. She LOVED the quality of all of the ingredients used. She basically examined the whole sandwich since it was so good. She then said, “This sandwich is amazing. It’s delicious and messy. I’m going to make one amazing mess!” Another thing we appreciated was seeing so many other items for sale from local businesses, craftsman and artists. They really try to keep it local, and they do a very good job at it and everything else they do. Definitely worth a try!
I showed up when they were closing, without realizing that they were closing. The person at the front, with glasses, still took my order and made me a sandwich. It could have been a rushed sandwich assembly, and sent me on my way, but it wasn't. It was super good, and I appreciate that kindness. Next time, I will go earlier in the day. Thanks, Cafe Alara. Cheers!
Hands down the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. I’m kind of addicted to the turkey pesto and have ordered delivery way too much lately but I can’t help it. I’m excited to visit the shop in person.
I love Cafe Alara. The atmosphere. The food. The people are friendly. The Avacodo toast and Roast beef and Artichoke panini are favorites.
The food was good, atmosphere was nice. I'm just not used to spending 15 dollars for a reuben sandwich. I guess that's just inflation
First of all, my friend and I were in a rush to catch a ferry and the woman who took our orders 2 reubens assured us we would catch it; she even let the other cook know that it was a rush order. They were very quick and friendly, and got the order out in time. When we finally got to eat the food, they were hands down the best reubens we had ever had. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would, because they really went above and beyond in service and quality!
A friend took me here a few months ago, and I seriously cannot stop thinking about the amazing sandwiches we all ordered. We had a party of 3, and we got everything pretty quickly. It is pretty expensive for a sandwich, but its so worth it.
