CAFE WHIM IS BACK
Well, not really, but sort of.
For those of you those were fortunate enough to have experienced the original Dutch themed Café Wim in the Byward Market located at 357 Sussex Street this may spark some nostalgic excitement. The “brown café” was one of the trendiest spots in the Market for decades. Run by Wim & Iris Tenholder the eclectic café was a hot spot for coffee drinkers, chess players, fresh European style fare and their unique “bikini shows”.
As homage to both this spot where I worked at and spent many formative years, I'm proud to announce we are opening CAFÉ WHIM in the Davidson Courtyard on Russell Street West just a few feet from my wife’s boutique The Gilded Monarch. Vanessa and I originally met and began our long standing courtship and romance at the aforementioned Café Wim. Offering a massive selection of artisan sandwiches, soups, salads, charcuterie plates, wine and craft beer, we promise the newly formed CAFÉ WHIM will deliver on both charm and flavour. The new Davidson Courtyard restaurant is holding its pre-opening celebration on Friday, April 21st with its doors opening to the public May 1st.
