Oh my goodness, this place has the best chicken sandwiches and crispiest fries ever! Everything is made by hand, from scratch - the breading, the sauces - no wonder it's so tasty! The owner, Harmeet, is so kind and sweet and came to check how we were enjoying our meal and took great care of us. He explained how he marinates the chicken for 16 hours and there's 10 different spices in the chicken seasoning, so even without the delicious breading, the chicken has great flavour! They also have a great patio and a fantastic convenience store and incredible selection of cold drinks. Today we tried the Korean chicken sandwich and the Nashville sandwich. Can't wait to come here to try everything else on the menu!
This is such a hidden gem of a restaurant. Normally when we visit the falls we generally eat at restaurants closer to the falls but last summer we wanted to explore bit of other side of Niagara and we are glad that we did. First of all this restaurant has a great pirate theme atmosphere. Burgers and Poutine we tried tasted amazing. As someone that loves cheese it was great to see how much cheese they put on everything! Definitely coming back.
Found this spot since it was at the halfway point to our ride. Turned out to be one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had. Great customer service by the owner and his little boys that were helping out. Don't miss this spot and make sure to try their fries.
I've been here a few times before and this time was as amazing as before. The waitress is really sweet as everyone mentioned but she suddenly turned sour after we paid the bill. Not sure why, we left a decent tip so it was strange. But the food is delicious. It takes a long time for food to be ready, esp considering what a simple dish it is, but that's alright. There's free coffee refills and a lot of free jam. We always have a good experience here.
Came here for lunch on a July Tuesday, as we wanted to support the new owners this place used to be a pirate-themed restaurant for years. "2-9-5" the telephone area code for Chippawa, in case you're wondering is now a convenience store, place where you can rent a U-Haul truck, and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We wanted to eat outside, so we went into the convenience store and ordered. The signature sandwiches come with fries and your choice of canned soda pop or seltzer water. You pay upfront and wait for your food to come out. They brought it out to us, as we were waiting outside. Leaving a tip if you're eating outside is tricky, as the service is not true "waitstaff" more like the person behind the counter running the tray out to you, and you pay before you get your meal. You never think to tip before you receive any service or food, and if you bus your own trays after, you don't think to tip afterwards. The menu is limited: basically several varieties of chicken sandwiches, broasted chicken combo meals, some fried 'bar foods' onion rings/wings/fries/mozza sticks/pizza fingers etc and fish & chips. We ordered 4 chicken sandwich combos and it took about 20 minutes. We all got something different: a crispy chicken, a butter chicken, a crispy BBQ chicken and a mini savory chicken the 'mini' being about half the size of the others, possibly good for children or small appetites The fries really were fantastic; super crispy but not overdone. I did find it odd that there appeared to be a full bar liquor bottles behind the register and that later, a group of 3 men came to sit outside with canned beer, but NO WHERE on the printed menus, large wall-mounted menu or anywhere else, was there any signage about alcoholic beverage being available beer not being available in Canadian convenience store, but can be available in restaurants
If you happen to visit Niagara and crave authentic crispy chicken sandwiches then 2-Nine Five is the place to visit. The owner is super friendly and works efficiently and quickly. The food is very fresh and tastes really authentic. I would definitely make another trip here. The fries add a textural element which I love. The options are nice and they let you choose as per your choices. All spices are innovatively developed by the owner and the portions are really good for the price.
I highly recommend this little gem. The staff is super nice and courteous, service was over the top and food was on point. Thank you Harmeet for sharing your story with us, love what you've done to the place! We'll definitely be back.
This place is a hidden gem. Easily the best chicken I ever had. I had the Nashville which has a fantastic blend of spices, and not too spicy... Just right. I told the owner he should seriously consider selling the sauce, it's fantastic. The fries are incredible and the owners/service was top notch. We got value for our money and didn't feel gouged like the restaurants near the hotels. Well worth the 5 min drive. We ate out on the patio, and had a great time talking to the owners. It made us feel incredibly welcome and you feel the love and care in the food. Compliments to the Chef! Highly recommended, this is the type of restaurant I want to see flourish. Good people.
This place is awesome. I came for the chicken and left incredibly satisfied, both in terms of taste and quantity of food. The chicken is handmade and you can tell. The fries are tasty and crispy. It takes about 10 minutes and is well worth the wait. Owner is super friendly and he truly cares to make sure everyone leaves happy. Beats the big chains hands down, highly recommended!!!
We were travelling on Thanksgiving and wanted to try the chicken sandwich. It was a sizable portion and one of the best we had ever tasted. The fries were to die for! It's family run and were very warm and polite. We felt extremely happy and content after the lunch. I would recommend to anyone who want to try out their sandwiches and fries. I normally do not provide any reviews and so do not have any pics of the food. My mind changed after having the food. Wish I had taken some pics. Parking: There was ample parking available.
