Worked as a journeyman service plumber at Burgess for about a year in 2021 and loved it. My biggest takeaway regarding the company, and why I would recommend it as the best plumbing company to use in the Cariboo, is that as an employee, I had excellent access to pertinent information. If I didn’t know something, I could ask my superiors any question, even if it was a “dumb” question and would be provided a nuanced, educated answer on the spot. This helped me serve my customers. If an individual employee inside the company does not operate in such a way, and take advantage of this, I would encourage you to simply ask for a different technician, and know that it isn’t a problem with the company’s operations. I am now off running my own business in a completely different sector, so I don’t benefit from saying this, just want to provide my opinion on why I think Burgess is a good spot. They have my recommendation.
Very helpful and accommodating. Great staff. A little long in getting an appointment to fix our gas fireplace but they got us scheduled as quickly as possible. Love them all.
I could not get an accurate quote for a WETT inspection so was very surprised at how expensive it was and all the additional charges Burgess applied. I was charged for the inspection plus the time on site to perform the inspection plus the time to perform the previous visit assessment of the stove and chimney, which I naively thought would be free, plus travel mileage for both trips, plus some sundry admin charge. I did query some of the charges but that's just the way they do business. Given I had to take two separate days off work to accommodate their schedule and how long you have to wait to get anything from them I guess you're just glad the work was actually done. On a positive note though, the inspector was great and provided lots of valuable information.
No service after the sale. Had a hot water tank installed in rental house and it leaked right off the get go into my flooring. They came out to fix it that day which was nice. Then i get the wrong bill, once i had that fixed they try charging me the whole amount for the install. Been trying to talk to a manger for 3 months to have this sorted out and nothing but broken promises. Would go into the store but i live in a dofferent town now. Needless to say this has no been a good experience at all and i WILL NOT do business with this company again. I have heard many similar stories from friends and other people around town as well
Chris arrived at our house to conduct a WETT inspection. He was very pleasant and very informative. We need more people like Chris out there!
i called 4 contractors to get an estimate to install a hot water heater,furnace and a/c.3 responded same day.burgess? i believe it was on day 3.first fail.if i needed emergency service i wait 3 days for a response? the service coordinator? offered me 2 alternate days to come,both didn't work for me.maybe because i already scheduled with companies that actually want my business.he didn't even try to work with me to schedule an estimate. these 2 days,take it or leave it.pass
