We stopped over here for a night without the ability to book in advance and the staff, from the get go were incredible. No fuss or bother and got us on a pitch as quickly as possible to let the kids and dogs out of the car. Pitches are very well maintained, flat and comfortably spaced. There is a huge dog walking area right at the entrance. You can see it was a WW2 barack and training/parade ground. We aren't going to have a chance to investigate but there seems to be lots to do in the area.
Great site. Facilities spotless at all times of year day. Over the Bank Holiday it seemed to be overcrowded in some parts with units close together or right on the road. Very well place site for many attractions. Handy pub and tearooms on the canal.
Great site. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good local information available. Nice 30 minutes or so walk along thecanal into Kidderminster and lots of other places in the area to drive to or use public transport. Large dog walking field right next to the site and a dog friendly pub 2 minute walk from site. Very clean upto date facility block with plenty of toilets, sinks and showers.
Went midweek 15-17 Nov 22, disappointed that the CCC have stopped doing the midweek discount, among with all of the others. Site fairly busy. Close-ish to bus route into Kidderminster, walking 1 mile by road, 1.89m along the canal distance to Cookley for pubs, chippy, supermarket and cafes, for a change, and given the forecast, the weather was actually pleasant.
This is a great campsite with lovely clean toilets. There's a large public area to the side where dogs can be exercised plus a dog walk along the entrance road. Dog-friendliness: The local pubs and a cafe in Old Wolverley accepts dogs plus kidderminster is only a walk along the canal with dog friendly cafes
Lovely site friendly and helpful warden's. One of our favourite sites. For me the only thing that lets it down is the tap for rinsing out the toilet cassette at the Elsan point. It needs to be a proper tap with a short length of hose on, so you can rinse the toilet cassette properly and hygienically.
We have been here before. It is a very clean and tidy site. The pitches are marked out well. I would have said the staff were very helpful and friendly and that was the case when we turned up, however, when I went to calmly put my case forward for my sister to be able to pitch facing us as I had noticed that a camper van had been allowed to pitch facing a caravan who had people in it that they knew. I was told that policy was all doors had to be to the right, this was obviously not the case with the caravan and camper van. The Male member of staff then erupted with anger and said, "let them do what they want, they are obviously going to do it anyway and then when it is not the right distance we will just make them take it all up again. I was in there to get permission, I certainly would not do anything without their say so. I left the office quite upset. Playground: Small and compact, it states children should be accomanied by an adult. Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome, there is a dog walking area for them.
A quiet site adjacent to the canal with a flat walk into Kidderminster one way and Caunsell's famous The Anchor Inn the other way, plus The Lock Inn pub great atmosphere and food outside the site. Slightly worrying to watch campers on their electric bikes flaunting both 5mph speed limit and site one-way system -an accident waiting to happen......and they towed their caravans there!!
Good location, well kept, but don't expect a lie in at weekends thought I was going crazy when I swore I heard a lawnmower before 9am. Enjoyed our stay though.
Typical Camping and Caravan site well run by friendly staff good pitches and great shower toilet block pub just outside and canal walks if you want we come here regularly nice walk to Kinver woods takes a couple of hours but views well worth
