Food was horrible service was horrible I don’t think you should come here. We tried the soup the burger and the fries they never came until we reminded them and we had to ask for our drinks several times. Horrible time never coming here again ever ever ever. Food actually came before the drinks - starters at the same time as mains. And the French onion soup. Wow. While we weren’t expecting anything Michelin star level. This didn’t even have the main components of one. Just broth with some onions thrown in. Brought to a boil and some cheese thrown in.They clearly hadn’t cleaned their fryer for ages because the fried calamari was dark dark dark brown but not burnt.Over cooked. Super unenjoyable meal and we love to eat and aren’t particularly fussy either and will eat something if we’ve paid for it even if we don’t like it much and both left most of our meals. The only thing was decent was the drinks The whole cost was 120 for this wayyy to expensive for the meal
Pros: Dog-friendly patio and thank you for offering water for him, incredible frozen drinks definitely try the daiquiri, friendly servers and great location! Cons: The food is bland, I got the fish and chips and it was ok, not much flavour at all and the tartar sauce came in two tiny packets. The salmon dish was also very bland. The bruschetta was ok, albeit quite oily.
You pay for the location, not the quality of food. Would say best to hit McDonald's for 1/3 the price and AC. The salads were fine, but nothing special. Worse, the beef and chicken burgers. $20-$30 for frozen food. I bet there is no chef in the kitchen. Sad to see a restaurant in such a prime location with subpar food
Nice place next to the river. Located in a crowded square in old Montreal. One could easily spend the afternoon on the patio watching the people go by. The food is alright and the staff are friendly and kind.
We got a veggie burger, a fish burger, and a salad with grilled salmon. The veggie patty had no taste and I had asked for fries with my order, but they got me a salad instead. I had to wait a bit before a server noticed me and then I asked him for the fries again. He then got me the fries but they were oily and did not taste good. The fish burger was good according to my friend. The salmon piece in the salad with grilled salmon was extremely small as though it was meant for a child and when we discussed this with a server, she fatshamed us. There were flies in the restaurant and we had to wait an unusually long amount of time before we could even place our order. Nobody greeted us when we stepped into Brasserie 321. I had to go to the bartender to ask her how orders were placed at this restaurant and she told me that a server would come to our table to take our order because we had to wait so long, I thought I'd have to place it at the cash. The servers also did not leave the water pitcher on our table, so we had to ask them again and again for water. The washrooms were dirty. Given how expensive the food was veggie burger was $20, fish burger was $19, and grilled salmon with salad was $24 + tax of course, the washrooms were an atrocity. There was pee on one of the seats, the trash can hadn't been emptied, and all three toilets were unclean. After this terrible experience, a server forced us to leave a tip saying that if we didn't tip her, the restaurant will make the servers pay the cooks out of their pockets. Given that the restaurant has hired the cooks and the servers, the restaurant should pay them directly, not the customers through mandatory tips. I do not recommend going to this place. There are many other restaurants close to Brasserie 321, so please go there instead.
After sitting at the table for ten minutes, a man dressed in a camo sweatpants suit asks us if we've ordered. I couldn't tell he actually worked there, so I asked if he's taking our order. He was rude, but okay, I guess it's part of the experience... So we place our order and ask for some tap water as well. Five minutes later, he brings a pitcher and leaves it on our table - no glasses though. So we wait. Nothing. Five minutes later, we ask another waiter if he could please bring us some glasses, since we can't drink directly out of a pitcher... Waited 30 minutes after ordering to receive our two drinks. Waited even longer for poorly cooked nachos burned and covered in stale tomato sauce. I ordered a melon sangria that tasted like a poorly mixed 'cocktail' prepared by a teen looking to get drunk quick.
Bad experience. Food was not up to what we paid, $86 excluding tips. Waiter was decent, but the one bringing the food on the table was rude. He was nearly throwing the dishes on the table. Apparently a coworker went missing… Nachos were nearly burnt, fries as well. Food was not that tasty. Salads didn’t come in as ordered. And, to finish the lovely experience, the ladies bathroom was the dirtiest I have ever seen, with waste basket on the floor, and dirty toilet paper and more, everywhere on the floor. I wish I could add here the photo I took to show the manager. In summary, I wouldn’t go back and I don’t recommend it.
I almost never write restaurant reviews, but we met a waitress there who had to be recognized publicly. Her name is Alexandra and she was phenomenal. She was prompt, smart, caring, and knowledgable about the food. And she just had this friendly demeanor about her that made us all happy. By the end of our dinner, two of us said, "She’s the best waiter we've ever had while traveling across North America “
Overpriced and food quality disappointing. First time visiting old Montreal and was so excited to try Poutine on the patio and order a beverage. They were sold out of coolers and ciders and the Poutine was the worst I've tasted. Service was Meh - young kids more interested in chatting with each other. Cost over $20 and we shared the poutine and ordered waters. Wouldn't recommend.
Absolutely ridiculous. Never had a waiter EVER take a machine from me after I didn’t tip him what he wanted. He proceeded to cancel the bill and restart and proceed to convince me to give him 15% after the service was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I had to go to another table to get condiments because my waiter never brought them. There were 5 of us in the group and I wasn’t going to tip because #1 my bill was double theirs before a tip and I ended up getting scammed into paying 65$ plus an 11$ tip after POOR SERVICE. Hope he enjoyed getting $50 in tips from us but what he did was disgusting and I feel like they take advantage of all english tourists. Be careful of this happening to you!!
