Story

The Bodhi Tree is part of a universal plan – the purpose of which is to raise the vibrational energy of our planet. We are participating in the shift of vibrational frequency to ‘collaboration and sharing’. “The essential impulse of all life is a will to connect, rather than a drive to compete.” (Lynne McTaggert, The Bond) and Yoga is the perfect expression of the connection between all things. <3

Mission

To nurture the higher consciousness of an evolving yoga community through authenticity, superior teaching and infinite possibility.

I spent a week around Christmas at Bodhi Tree and I had a great experience. Their wide range of yoga classes will satisfy the needs of all yogis, from beginners to pros. I had a few excellent treatments at their SPA and I’m impressed with the skill and experience of the therapists. I stayed at the Treetops building, which has brand new, spacious rooms and its own swimming pool that is much less crowded than the other pool next to reception. The only improvement point would be to install better lighting between Treetops and the main part of the resort because coming back from the restaurant after dark was a bit tricky.
Stayed here for a week long Yoga Retreat. What a beautiful place! The shalas we used for our practice were incredible -the views! The food was delicious and varied everyday with vegan and gluten free options. The staff were amazing - very friendly and helpful. Our room was in the Treetops and was very comfortable. All of the excursions were exceptional - Kenneth is an amazing and very knowledgeable guide. The stables we used for our equestrian yoga were great as well. The beach was within walking distance as well as the shops and restaurants. I can't wait to go back!
Such a wonderful stay! Rooms are amazing, ambiance is stellar, and the food is to die for! Yoga and other classes are amazing, save for Marck’s yoga class - this instructor verbally humiliated me in front of an entire class and gave me an adjustment that caused injury to my foot and knee. However, the resort was perfect besides this experience. 10/10 recommend besides that instructor
Beware -- Dishonest business practices. They advertise "rooms that flow with nature," but put us on a road with constant traffic noise. ATVs, etc. all day long. This is supposed to a yoga resort, catering to guests who seek tranquility. So why was a truck spinning its wheels in the mud a few feet from my bedroom at 6 am? Although they moved us to a new room, they LIED about the cost. They said there would be NO extra charge, then charged $45 behind our backs for the room change. Also, the beach shuttle is unreliable. There is no standard shuttle schedule. When the driver dropped us at the beach, we asked for a 2 pm pick up, but he never showed up. We had to find a business to call the shuttle to return for us. Too much vacation time wasted waiting around for the shuttle. Also, the shuttle broke down for at least an entire day, and they did not have a back up, so you have to pay for a taxi, even though they advertise "free" shuttle. We stayed at Bodhi Tree 5 years ago, and it was magical then. Now, it is a disappointment. Will not return.
Super cool place! Yoga setting is amazing and instructors very good. One thing that annoyed me is that the gym is $20 and is rather small and basic, also doesn’t have a shower. Better do it for hotel guests only rather than annoy your other customers.
Wow! I did not stay here, but visited the spa. I enjoyed the Ayurvedic and Reiki massage combo. AND the rejuvenating facial. The aromas were fantastic. The room was clean and professional with a beautiful waterfall I could listen to during the experience, just outside the room and behind a glass wall. The music was relaxing. The pressure was perfect. The masseuse did not speak English but was kind, pleasant and calming. I wish I could experience this once a week, or more! Walkability: I don't think this is very walkable. There was a row of red bikes out front both times I visited. They are not being used as this is tough terrain to navigate. Locals may walk, but with the crazy traffic passing on the left and the right it's a bit scary!
Absolute 5 star experience. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is even better. All the employees are super helpful and nice. The juice bar is a great accommodation.
gorgeous hotel, beautiful landscaping, and one of our favorites for yoga. Their hotel is really well organized. The staff are friendly. They have a juice bar and restaurant.
This is an amazing place. I've been here twice, once prior to COVID and once after. The rooms are beautiful and reasonably priced for the quality, and the food is extraordinary. The pool is impeccably maintained and the resort is very safe, and willing to help you with airport transfers and excursions. They would get five stars, but there was a terrible experience with a yoga instructor named Marck. My daughter and I are both yoga instructors and were very put off by his lack of professionalism and inappropriate adjustments. Other guests commented to us as well about his behavior that day. Other than that, the stay was perfect. Without Marck's "mark," the resort earned five stars.
I have been attending classes at the Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort for the past couple of weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed the instructors and the grounds, however all of that changed today Sept 6. After leaving yoga the Akasha Shala, I walked towards the Oceana Shala to head down the stairs to the Bodhi Tree Community Gym. On the pathway, a giant dog approached me and started attacking me. I have never had such a terrifying experience with an animal- I was just walking and did not notice it until it galloped up to me and began barking, baring its teeth and lunging at me. There were lights on in the nearby Casita so i started screaming in English and In Spanish for someone to help me. As i began to scream the dog got closer and closer to making contact in biting me. I swung my purse at it to try and get between the dog and my legs. This dog wanted to rip me to shreds. Suddenly the dog perked up, turned around, and ran back to the Casita. I backed away slowly and walked to the front desk to tell them what happened, fighting off tears. The man at the front desk was extremely dismissive of my concerns, first stating that dogs wander onto the property from time to time This dog ran into the Casita where the workers at the resort live and then saying it wasn't that bad as i did not get bit. He then radio'ed a different man to walk with me so that i could go down to the gym. The trail goes right by the Casita where the dog lives. I asked the man if Bodhi Tree workers lived at that Casita and he said yes, and then asked if he knew which ones and he said yes. I inquired if they would be told to keep their attack dog inside, so it would not attack guests as they go from the Shala to the Gym, but he seemed dismissive as well. Upon writing this I cannot safely state that guests will not be attacked by this dog that belongs to Bodhi Tree workers on their grounds, and although I have purchased more tokens to attend more classes, I am scared to go to Bodhi Tree because of this attack dog. Worse still, was the attitude of the front desk workers. They were dismissive and did not see the gravity of having a vicious dog roam the resort grounds freely. The worst experience I have ever had at a hotel, yoga facility, in Costa Rica, or on vacation EVER! Shame on Bodhi Tree for not facilitating a safe environment!!
