Very comfortable environment. Great server. Pretty authentic Mexican food with Americanized options flour tortillas. Taco Tuesday has $2 street tacos yellow plate. I had the red plate which was 2 for $13 for a beef burrito and pulled chicken soft shell. Chicken was much better quality than the beef. Comfy chairs. Nice bathroom with unique design. Water served immediately without question. No free chips and salsa like other places but you can order it for $2.99. So super affordable! Very spicy options if mild doesn’t do it for you.
In my opinion the best Mexican restaurant in the Twin Cities. Very authentic and good portion sizes as well. As you can see in one of my photos there is freshly grated cheese. If you’re a cheese person this will make all of the difference to you. The staff is nice and they try their best always. They have really good chips and salsa too. Enchiladas are great.
Wonderful hidden gem in St. Paul! One of the most authentic Mexican restaurants I've seen around. Great service and amazing food! You'll probably need a 'to go' box... delicious place!Food: 5/5
Oh wow! First of all, the decorations and vibes here are wonderful! It's on the side of a smallish road and both outside and inside are lovely! I forgot to take a picture of the outside, but wow! Just super pretty. There's an option for indoor and outdoor seating with umbrella. We biked there and they allowed us to set our bikes against the gate which was very kind of them! -- Our server was super kind and ready to help and give recommendations. The food was delicious too! The salsa for starters was a hot basket of tortilla chips and two salsas of different heat levels. 10/10, loved it! I ordered fajitas with a side of mole sauce extra. The sides that came with guac, pico de gallo, beans, and sour cream tasted super good. I wish I got extra guac and pico de gallo. Everything just tasted so fresh. Presentation of food is also gorgeous too. I think the drinks were top-notch too! I had the strawberry lemonade and it was tart and sweet. I can't wait to go back again. 10/10 place. Wonderful service, scenery, and food. :
Fantastic and delicious, good prices, excellent staff. Will definitely return. The tinga chicken tacos were delicious there were three, but I had eaten one before I remembered to take a photo. Also really enjoyed the black beans with queso fresco and crema!Food: 5/5
I've been eating at Boca Chica for over 30 years. This local, family-owned "gem" of an authentic Mexican restaurant is a real credit to the community. Take a look at my pictures to understand the care and dedication they put into their food. Everything was delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The Sangre Blood Orange Margarita was fantastic as was the great service. I absolutely recommend Boca Chica for a great experience!
Delicious Mexican restaurant with flavorful dishes, quality margaritas, and sometimes live music. The restaurant was spacious, yet authentic and comfortable. Really enjoyed the chimichangas americanas, along with the chili con queso, and had a polo loco margarita.
Great value, service, and quality! Somewhere between authentic and Americanized - but everyone in our group of 9 loved their selections. We were nearer to closing time, so we ate out front at the tables.
Went last night for a lovely company dinner. Awesome people, good food…or so I thought. I ordered the enchiladas huatulco, which contain shrimp and imitation crab. But mine contained an extra- HARD- ingredient: A FULLY INTACT INCH LONG SNAIL SHELL. How it got in my enchilada I have no idea, granted there was seafood but it was only shrimp. I hesitate to swear off BC forever because of this, as they seem to be a reputable restaurant with glowing reviews on Google, so I hope that this is just a one time freak thing. But I thought it would be a good idea to leave a review still so they can be aware and so you can, too.
Not very busy for lunch on a Monday. Our server was a very nice young man who was unfamiliar with the lunch menu, but his service was impeccable. Our meals were DELICIOUS! We started with the shrimp ceviche which was very nicely done in simplicity and not too filling. I ordered the chile relleno con carne, traditional style in broth. I can not believe I ate it all! My boyfriend ordered the fajita tacos. The beef was so well seasoned he didn't want to put any salsas or sauces on because it could cover the flavor of the steak. The discounted margaritas on Monday was a pleasant surprise, and there's a little something extra special about the salsa. All in all, we'll be eating here again anytime we're in the area.
