Yup, that’s us. Embarking on a new adventure that is the Board N Brew Cafe. You’re probably wondering how we ended up in this situation…

Aaaannnnnd as interesting as it would be to relay a hilariously quirky commentary of the play-by-play leading up to this moment, our story is not fascinating enough (unfortunately) to make it quite yet to the big screen.

Basically, we’re a couple of guys- three brothers and one brother from a different mother, who decided to STOP working for the man and instead, BE the man! We wanted to be ambitious, entrepreneurial, gumptious, and realize our dream of being our own bosses. Partnering up that spirit with our love of board games, Board N Brew is our ambition personified.

Board game selection is quite good and large as it should be. Atmosphere is good, lively. Not super big but they have some private rooms too. Decent service. The coffee is just alright; the baristas could do a bit better. Their coffee is from Phil & Sebastian which can be quite good - they are local to Calgary, too - but the selection here is very limited unfortunately. They have some alcoholic drinks and food too which I haven't had the chance to try. A little pricey but they wouldn't make much from admission alone so it's understandable. Parking very limited nearby, park up the hill and walk down. Overall a good time, and cheap on its own to come and play games for a day/evening.

Food is what I'd expect, we had candy, lasagna, beef patties and chicken and waffles. All were good portions for the price, beer is very well priced and I love that local breweries are so well represented. On to the games! They have everything, and 5 bucks for as long as you can play is an unreal deal. Staff can help you find a game or make suggestions. They're approachable if you need help and always wandering checking if you need help, snacks or something else. We will absolutely be back.

I really enjoyed the Board N Brew Cafe. The selection of games is fantastic, a little overwhelming, but not in bad way! Just makes you want to come back and try a new one. You pay $5 per person to play all day, there’s no time limit, which I like. The bathrooms were large and clean. The atmosphere was really nice and cute. The game selections as well organized. The drinks however were pretty... bad. We had a mocha and a dirty chai. Maybe if we had ordered a simple coffee if we would have enjoyed it more. Didn’t order food, but it did smell good. We will probably be back for the fun, but will probably stick with pop or maybe a beer.

This is my favourite game cafe I have been to. I love ambience and overall look of the cafe (the decor is not cringey or overly "nerdy"). It is well lit and spacious. They have a great selection of games and food and it is always a good time.

Really cool little board game cafe in an fantastic location downtown. The game selection here is quite broad and the staff are helpful and easily available. I'd recommend a better house red wine as it's pretty much the cheapest wine imaginable. The selection of the food would be nice to expand on but the food, especially the samosas were quite good. Parking is limited, so be prepared to park at the local impark lot if nothing is available on the street.
