Really a pity that one cannot leave a review with zero stars. Went to the bank this afternoon to buy or order Euros. The teller was immediately unhelpful and rude. We have most of our funds in a saving account but my wife does the internet banking so when I go there, they would need to cross reference our address to locate the savings account since I don’t carry around our account numbers. This was not possible with the teller as she wasn’t bothered trying. She needed me to pay the complete cost of the Euros in advance today, which I would have done if she would have looked up my savings account. I was trying to order cash from a bank and not get a loan or mortgage or something however she was handling this like it was a special order or something. At the end of the day if I decided not to take the euros then the bank would still be in possession of then and not out of pocket for a single cent her attitude was like they were specifically printing them of me. Crazy how this teller was making it sound like brain surgery. The line up was to the door when I arrived as usual and I’ve had consistent problems with this branch when trying to send money transfers out of the country so now I use “Western Union” as it’s so much easier and reliable. I also left a call back message today with 2 BMO branches in Saskatoon and surprise surprise, I never got a call back. An utterly unprofessional organization, shop around folks before doing business with BMO. Thanks for nothing from a soon to be ex-customer
Worst. NEVER bank with BMO. Honestly. They don't answer their phones, they have demonstrated massive incompetence with our mortgage, credit cards, establishing the account, cross-border transfers, opening and closing accounts, and more. At this particular branch, I tried to get through to somebody at the branch many, many times during opening hours and the phone system simply kept spitting me out into the telephone banking system. TERRIBLE BANK. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. It is not the same with every bank in Canada, either - my wife is with TD and while they have problems, it's nothing like the massive and sustained incompetence that we have been across all branches and divisions of this bank. Learn from our experience over many years!!
Extremely upset how they have handled assisting our family with the process after my dad passed away. If you know anyone who might be dieing soon consider getting them to another bank because these guys will take so long assisting you that their stuff will go to probate and they won’t offer any help.
It is month end and only 2 tills open. Everytime i come to do a usd account transaction i have to stay at the teller for almost 30mins. Your tellers needed more training and you need more tellers as well. Will be closing my account soon
The Branch Manager Tyler Kowalski, doesn't Value his customers, only the profit Margins...this is shown by the 100% staff turnover each quarter....heaven forbid someone earn a raise. I was able to cancel my account without Debit card or ID or even ask security questions. What a joke.
i’ve had a BMO account for more than a few years now .. that sad thing that happened to me today was the bank took 1700 from my account which was the last of savings that was saving for my rent and our Christmas money this year. i had no knowledge of this money being taken out of my account . i am very upset and heartbroken that this has to happen to me.
Horrible customer service, had an issue where a cheque came out of our account which was not supposed to, called to get the money back and to cancel the cheque, on day number 3 of waiting for the money to come back and still nothing. But when I called to cancel the cheque they said it’ll cost $12.50 to put a stop on it, that money was taken out immediately. They’re quick to take money from you, but take their time to give you your hard earned money back. There is no direct line to contact the branch which I find ridiculous. I called the customer care and they said to contact the branch directly.
Such loooong lineups TD had long lines as well but they'd open up extra tills when possible. There was an unauthorized credit card purchase on my account but they would not refund my $ because it was listed as a recurring payment but my account was less than a year old and there were no previous charges from this company recurring or not EVER on my account. TD immediately refunded my $ when it happened to me there. BMO customer service is horrible. Still waiting on the phone forever to close my accounts as I have switched back to TD the ladies there know everyone and treat you nicely. Well guess I have to go to town into the bank and wait in line for half an hr or so. At least I'll be done with them once and for all.
You know what's retarded? Banks, they make you jump through hoops to get your own damn money. Won't cash checks from their own bank because it's a different branch or because you dont have an account with THEIR bank. It's stupid all the processes you have to go through to get something that is already yours!!! Frustrated, fourth trip to BMO and am I ever glad I don't bank here. Wasted 4 hrs of my life in 4 days yes 4 separate trips there so far trying to cash a check for my damage deposit!!! And if that's not enough, one trip there, I had to have a crispy old woman looking at me like I was an insect and tell me, with an hr left in the business day that she wouldn't be able to help me because it's to late! Each trip I've made to BMO, takes an hour or more in the bank waiting. The trip that took the least amount of time was when I was turned away beacause it was too late. To top all of that off, they charged me $30 which is $5 less than what my husband and I pay for our 6 account at our current bank just to certify the check, meaning I still needed to take the check to another bank and cash it there. The only reason I gave it one star, is there is no option for zero stars!!!
I've dealt with BMO over 40 year's in different cities. I'm impressed with the employee's friendliness, they're knowledge & willingness to assist you. There is one problem. The wait in line. Most of the time there are not enough tellers open.
