Thank you for your hospitality. The campground features decent campsites and amenities. If you are seeking a peaceful out of the way camping experience this campground is that. Our group was a large family gathering with numerous energetic children and adults who enjoyed staying up late into the night sharing life experiences; we were loud at times but respectful moderating our behaviors as considerate people do. Nancy and Paul did not have to administer warnings and were generous with fixing campsite locations.
Beautiful and friendly! Very well maintained. Has that old time family reunion atmosphere. Our site was on a hill overlooking the quaint sitting fed lake. Lots of grass, not much dirt which is great. Owners are very friendly. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet family experience. I'm regards to negative reviews... If you own a dog the rule is to leash it! That's on you. If you are driving a class A it's not their fault you can't read... Very few 50amp mostly 25 so don't complain. Why mention in ground sewer as being an issue if you know coming in it's not available? Bathrooms are Kitchy but cute and clean. Quiet campground... If you are a huge group and loud I understand why you were asked to leave.
Never go back!!!!!!! I have been camping for sixty years. Just got back from 4 weeks camping out west. 1. Swim area too small for amount of sites and people. 2. No street lights was hard to walk 3. There is no sewer hookup 4. The bugs carried me away. I am never usually bothered by mosquitoes. Deer fly haven. They say there are a family campground but only single families. Don’t have to big of a group. Big gatherings are too noisy for the owners.
I called to make a reservation for the camping club I belong to and they would not even take our reservation because we were "too large of a group 8 units, 15 people and would be too loud". I think they could have asked a few more questions before turning away a group that could have been year after year repeat business. We are not a loud group and have always been respectful of the rules at the campgrounds we stay at.
We stayed 3 nights in the cabin. The owners were very nice! They educated my kids about their turtles on the land and they seem to love their wildlife and want to protect it. The park is very relaxing and quiet. I included pictures of the inside of the cabin and the view. Also, the swimming area and the stack of wood I received for $13 a lot!. I read some mixed reviews wood, electric box, showers so I was a little nervous. However, I believe it was a nice place to go! Showers are typical camping showers, nothing special but cleaned and gets the job done! The owners are nice and seem laid back. I would stay here again!
Went there this past weekend4th of July. Owners were nice when they wanted to be but were very strict and yelled at you often for many unnecessary reasons. Owner also moved our campsite to one on a hill where our camper would not be able to be level so that was not comfortable. At 10pm be ready to go to bed or get a light shined at you to tell you it’s quiet time, even if you are just sitting around a campfire. If you have your music above whisper get ready to yelled at about that and even get kicked out. Pretty pond/lake area but don’t think about using it to have fun because you can’t. They seem to cater to their long time seasonal sites and make newcomers feel like outsiders. They don’t even follow their own rules. And I caught the owner talking negatively about our group in the bathroom, and we did nothing wrong and were very respectful. We left early because it became clear we weren’t wanted there and it wasn’t any fun anyways. They should think about selling to someone who would make it an awesome place to visit
1st time to this campground, and our last. Nice campground, quiet, but the owners are dictators. They made it very clear that it was private property, so i guess that means they can make rules up as they go, instead of having a set list of rules. They make an otherwise nice campground uncomfortable. Alot of their "rules" are very petty. I would definitely not encourage anyone to camp at this place.
If you are looking for a quiet serine campground surrounded with mature trees, this is the place. We are seasonal campers here and love the peacefulness and the views. Not far from a larger town, but it feels like you are in the back woods. Highly recommend trying it out.
This place is a hidden gem. We were state and national park campers for years when we stumbled upon Bluegill. It is our third season and we love the peace and quiet, the beauty of the grounds, and enjoy all the varieties of birds. If you're looking for a campground that is party central, or where rules apply to everyone except you, this is not the place for you. I find one thing in common with all the negative reviews, they did not follow the policies, which are clearly stated in written and verbal forms. Maybe Paul and Nancy should require a reading competency exam, since clearly, those people are having difficulties. We have invited friends and family to visit us with zero issues, and all are looking forward to coming back. Paul and Nancy go to great lengths to welcome everyone, no matter your background or economic level. They simply ask you to follow the policies and keep a family friendly atmosphere.
1st time guest. Very nice park. Beautiful, natural surroundings, clean lake for swim and fish. Friendly, welcoming staff. All the amenities are right there. Clean wash house, cozy and rustic without really being "rustic." I say check out Bluegill, especially families. Think you'll enjoy.
