My family and I dine at this location often and, quite honestly, LOVE IT EVERY TIME - but tonight was an extra special treat because of the service Ved I hope I'm spelling that correctly gave us! He went out of his way to connect with our kiddos - and had a great sense of humour. My son was THRILLED that he was able to order The Keg Burger with a side of Lobster Tail...or was it a Lobster Tail with a side of burger? One will never know...either way we all thought it was a hoot. The manager also went out of his way to check on us and all the guests around us. As always - a great experience.
25 years ago, my family was fortunate to move into the Mckenzie Lake area. We have always loved the Keg, but since moving community, we were glad that we found our new spot close to home and business. Last night, after our trip to Banff, we were craving for steaks. Let me tell you, we receive exceptional customer service you know who you are. They truly understand what it takes to keep repeat customers. As always, our food was delicious! You made our day that will last a lifetime!!
The Keg is usually a great choice. This time around we found that it was not.nThe drinks were great.nThe garlic cheese bread had chunks of garlic butter on it making it a little overwhelming for our liking.nThe prime rib steak was not done very well. We have never tried it at The Keg before but we did not expect this. It seemed like the steak was boiled… It had little to no flavour and was very tough to eat.
Came here for my father's day treat with my wife and kids and had Rachel as our server unfortunately our steaks were incorrectly cooked but it was worth it they replaced both steaks 10 ounce filet and 7 ounce filet were absolutely delicious and gave a Billy miner pie to us which was amazing. Rachel by far gave us the best service that we have had in a long time she went above and beyond especially interacting with my kids 10 out 10 would recommend asking for her to serve your table at you next visit
We haven’t been to the Keg in a very long time as a family. 2 had a beer and a Keg Caesar and Danny Ocean were ordered for drinks. The cocktails were good. I appreciated the price of $10 and $11 respectively. Drinks have become extremely expensive as we all become bartenders in our homes instead.nThe hot freshly baked bread and butter is delicious as were the mushroom caps we ordered to share. They were cheesy and garlicky and I could just have those and some bread for dinner and it would have been great.nFor entrees 1 ordered the Lobster Tail dinner, 2 had the Teriyaki Sirloin and 1 had the Prime Rib.nThe butter for the lobster came out way too early. Like 20mins before we saw our entrees. Our mains did take longer than expected to arrive. We were told in 5 mins but it was almost another 15minutes. Not sure what happened. Maybe forgot a steak.nThe steaks were all cooked perfectly although my twice baked potato was left under the broiler a tad too long. The mushrooms and crispy onions were good. Only issue was the very salty gravy. So glad that came on the side as I wouldn’t have been able to eat my meal if it had been poured over the prime rib.nFries with one entree were decent frozen as they all are at restaurant these daysnCaesar salad that came with the keg classic was vinegary instead of creamy. Still goodnGreen beans, broccolini and roasted carrots with the teriyaki steaks were good.nnOverall it was a good meal. Service was friendly although there were a few large gaps such as after dinner where we were waiting for the dessert menu - we decided against due to how full we all were.nnWe had a reservation on Open Table for 7pm but when we arrived they said 10mins wait and they don’t really accept reservations.nPlease take yourself off of Open Table then or call it a wait list. That was weird
