The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - St. John's

My husband and I went out tonight for a celebratory dinner. Our first dinner as husband and wife and decided to go to the Keg on 130th avenue. From the second we walked in we were greeted with very friendly and personable staff. We were very quickly seated at our table and our server Gilles came over within a minute or two. Now first impressions are a big deal and let me tell you, this was one for the books. Gilles instantly made us feel right at home and comfortable. He was personable, friendly and very outgoing. He took our drink orders and then returned to take our food orders. At the time he asked if we were celebrating a birthday or anything so we told him we had just gotten married a couple days ago. He immediately without hesitation said congratulations and that dessert would be on the house. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience tonight. The service was outstanding, the food was perfection. Steaks cooked perfectly, flavor was on point. The dessert as usual was delicious. We had the Billy Minor Pie because it is definitely our fave. I even went as far as speaking to the manager and letting him know how exceptional everything was tonight and we thought he should know. Being in customer service myself I know you hear more complaints than you do compliments so when service is above and beyond like it was they deserve to be recognized. The server came back and thanked us for putting in a good word. He was a very genuine gentleman and wished us the best. 10/10 100000% recommend the keg and Gilles. We will definitely be back! We had a small family gathering here and the experience was great! We were looked after very well by Trevor who was extremely professional and attentive. The food was superb, I can heartily recommend the prime rib! It was cooked to perfection along with everyone else’s food as we had quite a varied selection from the menu. Desserts were great too, but if you order the Billy Miner pie you might want to share it! It’s huge!nHighly recommended!

My family and I dine at this location often and, quite honestly, LOVE IT EVERY TIME - but tonight was an extra special treat because of the service Ved I hope I'm spelling that correctly gave us! He went out of his way to connect with our kiddos - and had a great sense of humour. My son was THRILLED that he was able to order The Keg Burger with a side of Lobster Tail...or was it a Lobster Tail with a side of burger? One will never know...either way we all thought it was a hoot. The manager also went out of his way to check on us and all the guests around us. As always - a great experience.

The keg always makes a wicked steak dinner. This location is always busy. Great idea to have a reservation. I always like the bread at the table. I was ask for oil and vinegar. Yummy.

25 years ago, my family was fortunate to move into the Mckenzie Lake area. We have always loved the Keg, but since moving community, we were glad that we found our new spot close to home and business. Last night, after our trip to Banff, we were craving for steaks. Let me tell you, we receive exceptional customer service you know who you are. They truly understand what it takes to keep repeat customers. As always, our food was delicious! You made our day that will last a lifetime!!
