Blue Mound Campground

Facilities were clean and the actual camp sites were great. They were big and nicely secluded. The park itself has some great views as well.

Blue Mound State Park is a large park with many campsites, but I've only camped in the small, lower campground, which was designed for bicycle campers who are traversing the Military Ridge Bike Trail. None of these sites have electricity. Since I'm a bike camper, I really like the fact that this area is so easily accessed from the trail. There are toilets and water within easy access of all the sites, and a couple of the sites have open sleeping huts. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. I've always gathered fire wood from the forest that surrounds the camp area, but if you go up the hill to the main camp ground, you can also purchase firewood there. A site costs $12 for Wisconsin resident and $14 for a non-resident. If you come by car, you will need to buy a pass for the vehicle, but if you arrive by bike no pass is required.

Right around 10 hike/bike in spots just off the military ridge trail.
