Blue Dragon is consistently the best restaurant in Red Deer. Family owned, the chef is part of that family. The care and love put into their dishes is plain to see. Your hard earned money doesn't go into franchise fees but truly supports local. A large number of vegetarian and vegan options sit alongside meat-based dishes, so there is something for everyone. Variety, home cooking, plus a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I've never had a bad meal here. Give it a try for takeout as well! Thank you so much for the great food, Blue Dragon. Keep it up!
We ordered takeout from Blue Dragon and it was absolute perfection! The salad rolls with peanut sauce are addicting and we could eat them all day! Everything was still hot when it got to our door and tasted absolutely delicious! I ordered everything online and it was very easy to navigate their website and menu. The same people that own Bamboo Hut in Red Deer own Blue Dragon and the menu is very similar. I highly recommend eating here. It's real food, prepared fresh and family owned and operated.
I had the Dragon Bowl which was indicated as a signature dish on the menu, but it came out to be a pretty ordinary vermicelli bowl. Friendly staff and spacious interior, despite the nondescript exterior.
Decided to drop by for lunch passing through Red Deer for work. Glad I found this hidden gem! I went in around 2pm so it wasn’t as busy. Service was nice and friendly and the food came out quick. I got the ocean bowl that comes with vermicelli noodles. Most restaurants skimp on their seafood - this place DID NOT SKIMP! Good sized shrimps, squid, and scallops. I was surprised at the size of them as most places use the extra small size. There were a good amount of mussels too! I am normally used to vermicelli in pho dishes and was surprised at the flavor of it mixed with a seafood curry dish. Will come back to try other dishes and certainly get the ocean bowl again!!

Blue Dragon has amazing food, a great atmosphere, and amazing people! So friendly and welcoming that you feel at home! Done in and take out, it's all delicious! Great desserts too if you have room after your meal!Food: 5/5
Food was good though seafood bowl much overpriced. Service and evening restaurant service mediocre at best. More suitable to lunch crowd. Partner and I each had 2 drinks. Used glasses weren't removed. Waitress didn't know what glass to serve with a beer.Food: 3/5
The dishes we had were all very tasty and piping hot fresh from the kitchen. We had the dinner for two for $44. It includes 4x spring rolls, soup and 2 entrees. The spring rolls were nice and crispy but I think the sauce could have been spicier. We had the Tom Yum soup which was excellent it had enoki and oyster mushrooms, lemongrass, shrimp and ginger. Thai styled noodles pad thai and green curry chicken. We said for the curry to be spicy but it could have been even more so. We also had the salad rolls and they were good sized and came with a coconut peanut sauce with a bit of bite but again we would have liked it to be a bit spicier. All in all a great meal! We enjoyed ourselves and the service was very good.
The shrimp rolls were amazing, as was the yellow chicken curry. I've only been to this place a couple times but I am resolving to go more often now because the food and staff are just so great.Parking spacePlenty of parkingParking optionsFree parking lot
