Blackjacks Roadhouse & Games Room features great Canadian and Chinese food. When you're a truck stop as big as we are, you have to cater to everyone. Very good service, great choice of food.

Place can get busy but you won’t notice a drop in service. Located just off the highway it’s easy to drop in on your way in or out of Edmonton.

I've been eating here for years but after yesterday I don't think I'll be going back. We ate here for lunch yesterday and both of our meals were terrible. I ordered the meat lovers skillet with scrambled eggs. Usually when I order this my eggs are fluffy and perfect, but not today. They were thin rubber sheets that were completely dried out and cooked until they were brown. My girlfriend had the traditional bacon and eggs breakfast. Her bacon looked absolutely picture perfect but it was cold. She asked me to feel it and it was literally cold to the touch! 

I've been coming here for years, though the food can be hit or miss at times, I keep coming back because usually it's pretty good and the atmosphere can't be beat. Today was different. The waitress took my food to the back and another waitress came to the table and told me my skillet looked fine and that she could see absolutely nothing wrong with it. If it was fine I would have eaten it. If it was so much as edible I would have eaten it! Blackjacks has trucker sized portions, I go there when I'm hungry, if I rejected it there must have been something terribly wrong with it.

Since I only had one bite of the skillet she didn't charge me and I was only charged for the bacon and eggs even though the bacon was not eaten. I told her to touch the bacon but she wouldn't. It was literally below room temperature.

My waitress acted like nothing was wrong, which was quite frustrating, and the other one that came over was a bit confrontational as if she deals with this often. The waitress offered to have the manager come to the table but after 5 - 10 minutes of waiting she came back and said he was busy and may be a little while longer so we just left.

As for the picture, the melted cheese makes it look not so bad but you can see how thin and how cooked it was from the edge.

This used to be my favourite restaurant back when I worked in nisku years ago. Recently I started a new job and have been able to hit up black jacks for dinner again. I've been here about 10 times over the past month and a half and half of the time its great, the other half, not so much.

My issue is with the consistency of the food. I've always loved the skillets at blackjacks. Sometimes the skillets are awesome and filling, other times the eggs are overcooked and I get half the amount of food as usual. Also the servers don't seem to know what food gets what. For all the years I've been going there I've gotten sour cream and salsa with my skillets and when I first started going back I did as well, then I went in another day and got a different server and she said they aren't included and tried to charge me extra. I went back the next week and the a different server brought them out without me even asking. I asked her about it and she said they were included with skillets and not omelets and not sure why the other server didn't give them to me. Sure enough the time after I got the other server again and didn't get my sour cream and salsa.

Overall my experience has been positive but until the servers are retrained on what goes with what I don't think I'll be going back as much. I feel so awkward asking for what should be included with my meal and arguing with the additional charges. If this issue is addressed I'd happily change my review in a heart beat.

Great atmosphere. The food and beverage menu is awesome. Besides being the launch off or host for tons of relevant charities...The place is just friggin cool!

Food was good.  We were there for breakfast.  Reasonably priced for the portion size.  The server was amazing.  The whole decor of the place is cluttery cool.
