Black Duck Cafe

Have not been here in quite a while. Got the breakfast burrito that was very good. Hash browns were fresh and delicious! Enjoyed sitting outside. Was a nice day!

1st this restaurant is behind another so follow Waze, it's not lost LOL 2nd the building leans a little, you're not drunk yet LOL. It was actually funny as we thought we were losing it until other people said no worries it's a little tilted and was a funny conversation starter with strangers hehehe We had the New England Clam Chowder which I found to be too thick to the point where it was like having fondue. But hubby loved it, anything with cream and cheese he loves lol French Onion Soup would have been good if it wasn't so salty... It made all of our mouths pucker... We told the waitress and she just took it off our check. Stuffed Clams were good! Usually it's just stuffing over the little clam meat, they took the clam meat and chopped it up and mixed it into the stuffing so each bite had clam yum! and Chips, the was light and moist, the chips were curly ! Yay hehehe Davy Jones - is it a with or a roll with Either way it was delicious!!! Hubby's cuz and I both ordered the ; and both loved it. They have a stuffed which has inside the , but as I can't have dairy I didn't try it and the guys were on "diets" LOL There is an enclosed outdoor patio you can eat from with a view of the water but it was just too hot and humid for us to be out there. There are docks along the back were locals can just drive their boat right up and walk into the restaurant. It was a fun experience, if ever in the CT area would definitely stop in again :

We absolutely love The Black Duck! A long time Westport classic, directly on the water, is very easy to drive to, just off Exit 17 from I95, and right at the Westport train station for a convenient place to meet up with friends coming in by train. The ambiance is genial and friendly and an easy place to see old friends and make new friends. A lovely place to watch the sunset during the happy hour food and drink specials. Just the place for a full lobster dinner and more fresh seafood . Let's say a variety of excellent bands, local and otherwise, a great place to go dancing. Even Karaoke from time to time.

Divey place with limited menu. One server was kind and helpful, the other could use some training, since when he placed the plates on the table, some of the food slipped off the plate. And when he brought the cups of water, they were so full to the rim that they spilled and soaked all the items on the table. Also, water refills...refill them with a pitcher and don't bring another plastic cup and straw saves the restaurant $ and the environment. Food is meh. The egg burrito was so oily that when I picked it up, it seriously dripped so much oil...and made the tortilla all greasy. Why is there so much oil in an egg burrito? Home fries were like small bits of French fries. Overall...meh.

I’ve been coming for the duck for 10 years. It is the best bar in the area…by far. A dive that feels like home. You have to try the wings best in the region, not a joke and the burgers. 5 out of 5 would recommended.

Food was great and the service was excellent. They're stuffed burger was amazing cheese oozing out amazing. The lobster Ruben was just crazy and the double stuffed lobster roll was heaven on a plate. That's why it was on Guy's Triple D. Full covid 19 protocol in place felt very safe

Black Duck is locally famous and best known for its bar and late night live music. When every other restaurant and bar closes, everyone goes to "the Duck" for fun and dancing. Located in an inlet, the old building is slanted and feels a little like it will slip into the water but is perfectly safe. Highly recommended.Food: 2/5

It's clear why they made it on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives! Excellent food, servers have a sense of humor and an interesting level of sarcasm. The whole building leans towards the river! Just a cool placeFood: 5/5

Waitress was very nice but the service was slow since there was only one waitress for the whole place. Good deal for lunch, $5 for littleneck clams. Prices were expensive and the food was ok. Duck wings were also ok, pretty spicy but not the best I’ve ever had. Interesting atmosphere, right on the water on a barge. Got the lobster roll with sweet potato fries. The fries were good but the lobster was over cooked and had no flavor. Burgers were too well done. Just ok for the price, expected something better and won’t be coming back.
