What a nice little find! First of all, the menu. It is sooo coool! Big, easy to read. Right up my alley! They have a very attractive food selection, which makes decision making challenging. We were a group of 6 adults, and most of us chose a different selection of appetizers and dinner items. They were all delicious!!! On the evening we showed up, they were understaffed, so only one server and the owner were working. This did not affect the quality of service at all, which I find impressive. I highly recommend you make this your dinner place when in Belleville.
Called before going in the summer and they were able to seat us outside, they have a covered outdoor patio and seating on the grass. I was happy this actually blocked some of the sound of the road, it was pretty quiet considering it's location. Cocktails were very good, the shareable dip we had was super tasty! I preferred the greek salad, over my friend's steak. The steak was fatty and not seasoned great, she didn't finish it. But this may be because of covid, the restaurants were opening and closing constantly. That was the only thing that missed the mark, everything else was good though!

Enjoyed the atmosphere. Everything was clean. Our waitress was amazing. She was very patience with us. Food was delicious. We will definitely stop by again.
Had dinner here and were so pleasantly surprised. Great menu and selection especially the vegan options - even dessert! I never understand why other restaurants find offering vegan food so difficult…. EVERYTHING was great including the service so we will be stopping in every chance we can. That chef’s outside of Toronto can actually cook vegan food - who knew?!? Vegetarian options: Again, the vegan thing is huge…most resto’s will offer to remove ingredients and rarely add something in return to make a meal vegan. All that does is make it less tasty - then they don’t even offer a reduced price for removing the cheese or meat their costliest items. Dietary restrictions: Again, Vegan is a dietary restriction. So many restaurants offer restrictions like gluten free options but not vegan.
Great food. Good prices. They seem to be under staffed or maybe they just don't like to serve families. We stopped by one day while passing through town and really enjoyed our experience. The next week we drove from Kingston just for dinner and we were discouraged by the hostess/server, who told us it was going to be a very long wait. We sat anyway, it was worth the wait as we expected. The next week we made the same trip, only this time we were flat out refused a table at the door. The dining room was maybe 30% full. We won't be back, but I still highly recommend to couples or groups without kids.
We had an amazing dinner. Cocktails to dessert, everything was delicious. The service was outstanding. Having worked a double shift, our server treated us like royalty. We'll be back for breakfast very soon. Special thanks to Erin.
My beloved and I went for brunch. Very pleasant interior and excellent service, though the staff were very stretched. We both ordered steak and eggs. The steaks were both cooked perfectly medium rare, though my beloved's was somewhat fatty. However the flavor was delicious. Only criticism? The home fries were overseasoned. But overall a great experience - we'll be returning for sure
The staff are great and the restaurant is lovely. The food was really tasty and good portion sizes. Unfortunately the night we were there they seem to be very short staffed as is everybody and it took a while to get our food. But I don't really count that as a mark against them since that seems to be Universal. I highly recommend and we plan on visiting again the next time we're in Belleville
The two stars are for the food quality being pretty good and quick bringing drinks to the table. After having just eaten there, I'm so disappointed with what's become of Birdies. We waited about an hour for food. To add injury to the slow wait, they served another table food even though that patron was seated about half an hour after we had made our order. When this was brought up to our server she said it was because that patron's order was easier !!!. That patron ordered eggs Benny. Our orders were simple, though there were 4 of us and the other patron was just one, our food was not complicated. We also had a toddler in tow. It would have been nice if they'd considered the level of patience it takes for a 2 yr old to stay entertained while hungry and sitting still for an hour. I am so disappointed that someone having a simpler order was a legitimate reason for it to be okay for them to skip the line. I'm so disappointed the sever said "That's how all kitchens I've worked at operate". I am disappointed that the food still had mistakes despite them having so much time sauce was put on top and not put to side like asked, kids "mini" pancakes were actually humongous regular pancakes, the bacon was chewy and under cooked. The servers showed no urgency or concerns for people waiting long times for food. They just went behind the bar and polished glasses incessantly while their ship was sinking. It was sad to watch. The cherry in top: we were seated and made our order when the place was still relatively quiet. I have no idea why it took an hour to get food but if some patrons could get food in less than 15 minutes while the rest wait an hour, it can't be a very good excuse. When we left, the place was getting very full. Hopefully they turned things around.
