10/10 recommend, absolutely amazing!! From our server to the cleanliness. This was our “last night” of our trip and we wanted a nicer meal- this was it! The “stop light scallops” were so delicious and cute. Our server was such a lovely human and gave yummy and honest suggestions. Timing of everything was perfect. I truly can’t say enough great things- you’ll have to try it for yourself!
On our last night in Saint John, we were on the hunt for a seafood restaurant and then came along Billy Seafood Restaurant!!! From the moment we arrive and greater by Sara it was a wonderful experience. The oysters were amazing as were the crab cakes. Then, the main course is Cajun Seafood Stew was out of this world, it was so full of seafood food I couldn’t finish the entire dish. The fish and chips looked amazing and the way it disappeared I am sure it was. The waitress Sara was fantastic and so welcoming. Thank you for a great experience.
Went for dinner with the family. Service was a little slow but still friendly and apologetic. Pasta was good though not much difference between the pesto version vs the seafood medley version. Cajun stew kinda like a paella and fried chicken were a little bland but still enjoyable for the family. Mussels were quite tasty, and the oysters were nice too.
Food is delicious. Clamp chowder soup is tasty but pricey for a bowl. Service is good with the pressure of the workloads with the waitress. Beacon-wrapped scallop is delicious. Right in the downtown at the Market Square.
From a good stand point, everything was fantastic. Highly recommend the seafood chowder. We also ordered the seafood medley and lobster mac and cheese which were good too. My issue was with the service. It was not at all what I expected. We travelled from Toronto and clearly stood out as the only minority people in the restaurant. Our server Corey was not friendly. There were only 4 tables in use at the time and he went out of his way to make conversation with the other tables. He was very short with me and did not exude the same level of friendliness or interest as he did with the other tables. He was extremely sarcastic to make it worse. I left the restaurant after an hour after deciding it would be better to finish my meal at home rather than stay at the restaurant. Truly disappointed with his behaviour and clear display of prejudice.
Definitely a popular place. We walked around a while before heading over. Most restaurants we walked past were close to empty then we got to Billy's and it was almost full. We almost didn't get in. We didn't have a reservation. Luckily we got a spot as the food was fastastic. Highly recommend it but I suggest making a reservation.
Great restaurant at entrance to city market. Billy was behind the counter greeting people. Servers were smiling, and quick to serve with great suggestions. The restaurant is clean, music is not too loud. Food was super fresh and tasty. Lobster roll, seafood chowder, oysters, even the Caesar salad was delicious. Eat here...Food: 5/5
I had the Salmon BLT and it was AMAZING. I've never considered having bacon with salmon, what a great mixture. My lunch mate got the cedar plank salmon, and yes the salmon was served on a piping hot cedar plank. It was delicious. She said her beets were perfect, not too vinegary and the perfect tenderness. This was first experience at Billy's and I'll DEFINITELY be back. Friendly atmosphere, and Sarah our hostess was just phenomenonal. They will be doing curbside pick up during Phase 3 of the pandemic!!
Great place with friendly servers. Love the lobster meal$55 1.75lbs, small lobster roll$22, fish and chip$18 2pcs and Cajun seafood stew$36. Small Chowder$9 is too thin I think it should be a bit thicker. I even discovered that there is meat inside the antenna of a . Documented with photo.
Portions here are huge! Lobster "mac" and cheese is very filling. Fish and chips were bigger than my head. Chowder was super yummy. Waiter was lovely.
