Big Moose Deli & Country Store

Shop is unique with lots of cool tchotchke odds and ends. Owner is definitely an acquired taste and a bit scary but a good scary like going into a haunted house on purpose. Wish I had gotten more stuff when I went but some of it seemed a bit overpriced. Got some great smelling Amish soap. I also got the donuts but I was a bit worried when he said the town historian made them when I inquired about the freshness of them but they ended up being great! Next time I’ll def get more stuff.

Travelers paradise lots of novelty and useful items. A large selection of candies and sodas. They have cider doughnuts but they were not as good as I had hoped. I get cider donuts when North Carolina and they are delicious so that is what I was hoping for. Good store overall but lacking with the cider donuts.

I absolutely love this deli. We always get hot dogs and we love the cider donuts. Shane is such a hoot. The owner is always a pleasure to talk to. They have such a wonderful selection of gifts and odd and interesting things to check out. Highly recommend the big moose!

DO NOT STOP HERE! Would rate lower if I could, should've called the cops on the Store manager. The sign on the unlocked door said open and it was after 9am on a Monday but bc a closed flag was flying he felt it was ok to come charging in the store screaming the f word multiple times at my 11 yr old son and myself while I'm apologizing he continued screaming and scared the crap out of the both of us. Save yourself the trouble take pictures and go to the dollar general down the street. Very sad to write this review bc I visit family in VT regularly and I'm all about small town family owned businesses but this man scarred my child for life he thought we were going to be attacked and was shaking for a good hour afterwards from the adrenaline dump. Upset I didn't read the other 1 reviews before I got out of the car lesson learned on my part I guess.

Stopped with a few friends along the way. Absolutely gem of a shop! It's crammed with little knick knacks, candy, souvenirs, seasonings and spices ECT! I found these hot sauce bottles hilarious!!! The store goes back so far it feels like it will never end I saw some other people ordering food, next time I will have to get some but these maple syrup lollipops are fantastic! Lovely little shop! Can't wait to go back towards Vermont so I can stop again
