Just picked up lunch from here today at around 12:20pm. Had to wait 15-20 mins for "rice and peas". Why open at 11:30 if you don't even have rice ready? Then when I got home, my order was incorrect. They gave me corn and coleslaw with my jerk chicken when I asked for coleslaw and mix salad and they didn't add the sauces that I requested. The rice didn't even have peas in it and it didn't taste fresh at all. On top of that....there were 2 pieces of hair in my meal!
This time I ordered their BBQ chicken instead their jerk chicken. The guy told me that once people tried their BBQ chicken they don’t go back to their jerk chicken. They are really good. My family tasted it and liked it too. Portion is great. Will buy it again. I also noticed that this restaurant shares the same kitchen as the Big Zen next door. I saw the employee walk back and forth between restaurants through the kitchen. Interesting concept. I also attached pictures of their menu here for those who need it.
Had the lunch Jerk Chicken. It came with two 2 sides and choice of sauce. I picked salad mix cucumber, tomatoes & onions and coleslaw. Comes with rice & peas. Huge serving of chicken boneless spice was good..could use a bit spicier. Plus I chose the garlic sauce..very good sauce..not too garlicky. All in all everything was very good. I would recommend this for sure.
Gave it a go as we love curry dishes. We ordered the curry goat and got curry bones. The rice and peas was a huge mound of disappointment,...no stars. The ambience when you walk in is on point, clean, friendly and great music. The slaw was good. The mixed salad was some cucumber with a lot of red onion. The mango chutney was a very runny puree....absolutely no chunks. We may give it another try but.....I already feel like that 40 bucks a big waste and was tossed in our compost. The unpleasant after taste was hard to brush away. Hopefully the reviews are helping them improve upon the authenticity of the cuisine.
I would like to rate 0 stars but have to give at least 1 to make a review. They used a tortilla wrap instead of roti wrap, the bag the food came in doesn't even have 1 spot that's not grease covered and the food is disgusting. They used to be good and the cook was amazing... now it's not even edible, not even salt which they apparently don't have would make their food any better. Don't waste your money, disappointed is an understatement, this place needs to be shut down before they make people sick!
This is not jerk chicken. Not even close. It was a good try. It was chicken breast chop into pieces with alot of "bbq" sauce over it. Rice was ok, maybe the cabbage was the only tasty thing in the dinner. Not a place I'd eat from again , not recommended.
Stopped by for lunch with my girlfriend. I got the jerk chicken plate and she had the curry chicken. Food was amazing. Flavours are awesome, the price is fair and a great portion size. We will now be regulars. I’d recommend this place to anyone.
Save your money and go elsewhere. Prices are not updated, charging way more on the POS system yet paper menus on counter and on walls list another price. No flavour at all in the so-called spicy beef patty. Dry and doesn't taste authentic. Menu says sandwiches include a variety of toppings yet we were never asked what toppings we wanted. He comes out of the back stating sandwiches only include coleslaw. Extremely deceiving when they don't honour the menu. No receipt provided, sounds like they are skimming the taxes. Jerk chicken restaurant yet run by non-caribbean staff. Zero stars is really what this place should be rated. They don't care about customer service, or making customers happy. First and last time we will be buying food from this place. Clearly an establishment that is just hustling you for your menu. Rarely post reviews but this place should not be in business.
Delicious! Chicken is so tender and moist and the pineapple corn is such a different addition to the meal. Rice may not be what is expected of Jamaican restaurants but is absolutely delcious. Will definitely be back to try other menu offerings!
