This Subway is in the centre of Whitby close to the harbour and sells all the usual Subway delights plus specials if you want to try something different. I tried the Rotisserie Caesar Wrap which was filled to capacity and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This are about a dozen tables if eating in.
I actually used to like subway not anymore the sandwiches are completely overpriced and actually they are very sloppy the staff are slow and not very attentive and I can tell you now the pizzas are an absolute monstrosity the cheese was mangled and it stunk of urine not even a exaggeration. However I do recommend purchasing a refillable cup which you can infinitely go back and forth and refill however if you stepped outside the restaurant and tried to come back in with the refillable cup you are met with a vicious order to surrender your cup to the counter. The restaurant doesn’t allow groups of youths in without an adult which personally I think is ridiculous their money is just is better than anyone else’s however the staff don’t seem to think so .
Run by kids had no idea what they were doing had to remind them constantly of our order and they kept forgetting things like cups took an absolute age to pay as they couldn't figure out how to tally it up and all relied on one to do their jobs for them all issues came down to poor management and no order to their madness. Fast food? Nothing fast about it.
Was very slow service, not a big queue tho. Run out of steak too. Staff just seemed out of their depth. No hot drinks machine working either. Food wasn't hot as there was a wait for additions due to bit of a backlog and a language barrier before us. They did their best.
I find the Subway process quite farcical at the best of times but this experience was beyond that. They seemingly have 3 or 4 "sandwich artists" but they swap roles what seems like every 20 seconds as they take it in turns to go in the back to get supplies. This is at 12:00 when you'd expect the basics to be plentiful. This means it's repetition, repetition, repetition when it comes to their usually standard questions. Add on to this a missed question of "toasted?" and suddenly your 20 minute wait is extended as ingredients are then removed from your sandwich to allow this to happen. Don't get me wrong it's a great concept when it's slick and despite the prices constantly creeping up it's still "OK" but the experience today reminds me that sometimes it's better just comoromand get something "off the shelf" elsewhere.
Worst subway customer service I've ever had. Slow, lazy staff that don't care about doing their job wwell. Sandwich was slapped together with no effort to make it well.I got so much sweetcorn that is was unbearable and then only a bit of cucumber, very weird. All the tables were dirty, covered in crumbs. Some other customer made them aware that all the tables were dirty and they didn't come clean it. Plus, all the staff look like they have just come out of prison.
Only gave one star as can't do 0 stars. Absolutely disgusted with this store. The staff are the most rude people I have ever met in my life. Ended up walking out due to their stinking attitudes and had to find elsewhere to feed 3 hungry children!
I love subway but i now hear they only use halal meat. I have tried asking but get no comment if this us the case i am very much against it. There should be a choose for everyone. I have many Muslim friends who feel the same way. They feel this is pointing them out and that's unfair to them. If this is not true why won't they comment when I ask them ?
Staff are very slow and not very attentive to their customers, they communicate in a series of grunts and growls. Half of their bread was out of stock... Sandwich was falling apart not very well put together. I have visited this subway twice and had the same experience both times. Very disappointing.
The store was fairly busy which is understandable as it was a nice day and it was the start of the summer holidays. The staff however were working the bare minimum and not even bothered by the que that started to form, blocking the entrance. When it was our time to order I was told that there were no veggie patties left, so I ordered a veggie delite, clearly I’m a vegetarian but they didn’t offer to change their gloves before handiling my sandwich they’re supposed to. I’d gotten over that by the time I’d waited for my sandwich to be toasted, they then put the sandwich right next to and touching a meat sub in the grill, not appreciated. A man then put my chosen salad into my sub, still didn’t offer to change his gloves. It was then time to pay, the girl at the till gave me the total for my order before I’d even asked for extras, I told her there was two sandwiches and she put it through as three, she then told me my total again. I explained that there was only two sandwiches and that I wanted one drink and three raspberry cookies. So she picked up and wrapped three rainbow cookies. I just left it because i really couldnt be bothered anymore. We went to go get our one drink where there was another employee who stood by the drinks machine turning her nose up at every customer, defiantly not bothered about her job. Safe to say we won’t be coming back here again.
