Big Al's Ottawa East

Bought this beautiful blue throat triggerfish yesterday ! They're livestock are healthy. Cool variety of reptiles too ! My kids loved the tiny chameleons!!!

Knowledgeable and friendly staff and the fish selection is great! If you set looking for ideas, their display tanks are spectacular!!

The owner is so knowledgeable and nice! He helped me today when I was trying to find the right glass tops for my tank which is older it seemed like an odd size, so he suggested we measure the tops of the 2 different tanks that he sells in store, too see if 1 of them were close. He took the time himself to measure them and sure enough one was close! So I bought the one he suggested and it fits perfectly! Thank you very much! Oh and we have bought a lizard and lots of different fish from them and never had any issues.

Stopped by this pet store and asked about a Ramshorn snail. The staff confidently told me it couldn’t reproduce in freshwater. Fast forward a couple of weeks and my tank looks like a snail daycare. They’re everywhere. It’s kind of funny, but now I’m stuck with the cleanup. Just goes to show they may know how to sell animals. Not much else.nnAlso, keeping that shark in such a small tank is straight-up animal cruelty. If they can’t meet basic care standards in their own store, don’t trust their advice for yours. Do your own research.
