We were a little hesitant given some of the reviews, but we had a great stay. The staff was friendly, the room was nice, and the deck for watching the sunset was fantastic and the carpets were totally fine, maybe replaced?. The deck is somewhat shared, and is above the parking lot, but the view was hard to beat except maybe if you were on the top floor!.
We were treated poorly apon registering . Asked for an up grade and the manager was rudenand condescending . The room carpets are filthy and the air conditioning unit had been leaking all over the door frame and was stained rust . The bathroom sink was sullied . I spoke with the manager about my disappointment and sent pictures. The person in charge chose not to respond back . I will never darken they're doors of this establishment and will discourage any persons from staying . I have been in the hospitality industry for 30 years and have never been treated so poorly.
Probably the best option in Powell River if you want to be in the centre of town. We had an ocean view King room but true ocean view is on the top floor suites only. We saw the ocean from our room but we also overlooked garbage dumpsters out back next to the parking lot plus heard a lound vent every morning. Carpet in room looks worn with stains. Pillows are super flat. Asked front desk for firmer pillows but they didn't appear. No front desk service outside of 9am-6pm. No amenities outside the spa. We were out hiking or kayaking most days so this hotel was fine to crash at night - it's very average and feels more like a motel.
We had two double beds. Room layout felt cramped. The carpets were absolutely discusting litered with stains I looks and smells like they have not deep cleaned them in 10 years. They should rip them up and replace them. Turnover service was only every few days and they missed things. After 6 pm nobody is going to bring you extra towels or coffee.
This review is for the spa, however I have previously booked the hotel and been pleased with the rooms too. I booked a facial, massage and pedicure for myself and my mom. We are frequent spa patrons so kind of know what to expect. My services by Rae were absolutely fabulous and my mom was equally impressed by her treatments with Stacey. Wonderful relaxing day and of course we will be back for more! Thank you both!
