This is very good BBQ. I’ve been following Benny on social media since he was smoking meet in his backyard so it was a real pleasure to finally try his smoked meats. I’ve had BBQ all lever the US and as far as BBQ goes this is probably a 9 out of 10. There are better but not in Toronto. The ribs are peppery, sweat and juicy, just the right level of smoke. The brisket is so tender it practically melts in your mouth. I also got the bacon beef rib, I think you mouth cried tears of joy. I’m not kidding, some of the best beef I ever had. I got the frozen ribs also, they are just as good as the fresh ones, just follow the instructions given. Value wise this is your best option. The portion size is small as some have pointed out but to be honest you can’t compare ribs from Swiss Chalet or Montana’s to these, totally different animals. This food is 10 times better than BBQ that’s half the price. The macaroni and cheese was very good but I was not a fan of the beans. Not that they were bad, just not my style. Over all highly recommend.
Finally got to try Benny’s Barbecue and it was well worth the anticipation. The brisket was ever so juicy and bursting with flavour. The Mac&cheese was ok. They also offer rare flavours of sodas not found in your average stores. Definitely worth it but make sure you go early in the day before they sell out!Recommended dishesBBQ Pork Ribs, Brisket and Side Ribs
this is high quality meat and you can absolutely tell. we got the Texas Trinity to try and i enjoyed the side rib a little more than the brisket. the staff asked if we wanted our brisket more fatty or more lean which was a nice gesture. only thing to note would be that the portion felt slightly lacking but otherwise, incredibly flavourful meat!
Best fatty brisket in town and we've tried quite a few. Ribs are stellar too. The team working was super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our order was as requested. We got take-out and the order stayed fresh and delicious on arrival. : Our new go to place!
This is a really good BBQ spot! I was super excited about this place opening up in our area, since there are almost zero BBQ options in Midtown. I was not disappointed. We ordered the brisket, the baby back ribs, the pulled pork, along with Mac & cheese, potato salad, baked beans, and a few s’mores cookies to top it all off. Everything was delicious - especially loved how flavourful and tender all the meat was. Highly recommend this place!
We research the nearest and the best Texas BBQ. Overall the meats are high quality, tender and juicy. The reviews and our experience are fully aligned. Personally I like the daily special pork belly. The side ribs and pull pork are both very delicious. The sides are also well prepared. The sausage has nice smoky taste but a little bit too salty. If it is less salty, the sausage must be a good one.We highly recommended.
The beef brisket is all that and more...great flavour and very tender. Definitely worth travelling for. Side ribs were also very good. The sausage was good, but nothing special. The brisket beans were really good - the best side we had. Mac and cheese was good. The potato salad was bland. The key lime pie was one of the best I've ever had. Great filling - perfect balance of sweet and tart. I loved the crust, it was substantial and delicious. Can't wait to come back
Honestly BEST BBQ in TO. Went with my bf last weekend and they were so welcoming and had such great suggestions. We ended up getting beef rib, brisket, pork ends and pork ribs. As for sides, mac&cheese and slaw. Everything was mouth watering and so full of flavorssssss. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back!
Review from an actual Texan! First impression is this place was really good but would be great with a few imrpovements. Price was on average for barbecue in Toronto from what I've seen. We spent about $45 for two people. Sliced brisket sandwich: great seasoning and flavor, not too dry, and not too much fat! Very tasty. However, the bun was cold and a little stiff, the sandwich would be great with some better buns. I also wasn't a fan of the sauce more on that below Jalapeno cheddar cornbread: was served cold and didn't have enough jalapenos, couldn't taste them at all Barbecue sauce: the base flavors were pretty good, but it tasted like they put mustard in it which I've never experienced in a barbecue sauce before, and wasn't a fan of. Would also be great if they had a spicy sauce option! Cole slaw: this was a free side and I'm not a huge fan of cole slaw so I won't discuss too much, but it was kinda dry Banana pudding: this was great! A bit different style than I'm used to whipped and with caramel but it tasted great and seemed like it was made fresh since the vanilla wafers were still crisp. Only available Fridays and Saturdays but definitely recommend. Just a few changes and I feel like it'd be a really great barbecue place, but the main detractor for me was the weird mustardy sauce. The brisket was really good. Planning to come another time to try the jalapeno sausage and baby back ribs though!
