From the moment you walk in.. you are greeted with a pizza bar full of freshly made pizzas with a variety of toppings. The the right, an upscale coffee bar with an abundance of sweets to choose from. Moving to the back is a hot bar open until 3 and a salad bar open later. The best part is there is no shortage of spaces to sit. If you venture downstairs is a ton of tables for eating, studying & enjoy a nice cup of coffee. There is a bar downstairs as well. Overall a great space for students & visitors alike. I give it 5 Jerry the pigeon gives it 5

The pizza is always good, and the coffee bar staff is almost always extremely friendly. The self-serve hot bar and salad bar is a little pricey for what it is, but still tastes fine! Downstairs is a great place to sit for a meet-up with friends.

I really really want to love this place but just about every time I go I leave aggravated. And I am not looking for much. Whenever I go to have a seat inside for a bit and maybe read and have a coffee or lunch, the people that sweep the place literally sweep all around you, like within inches and make you feel like they either want you to leave or that you are in their way. not just once, this has happened to me on at least 6 occasions, I no longer sit at the restaurant Was dying for a coffee today and got a medium latte which I was told has three shots in it got halfway home, took a sip - the drink was white in color - all milk pretty much and I had even asked for only half the amount of milk. I hate complaining but when people are paying premium prices these days get the order correct. Done with this location.
Not surprised to see so many people mentioned about the rude lady at the salad bar. Don't understand why she is still not fired yet. This place is really close to my work and food is pretty good, but sometimes I give up going just because I don't want to deal with her attitude.
The concept is great. Great for a quick and healthy lunch option. All of the grains are under cooked though which is unfortunate. The coffee is also not good. I actually had to exchange my first coffee bc it was undrinkable.Food: 4/5
Beatrix has very good personal deep dish pizza. Their "regular" slice doesn't measure up, but is still pretty good when compared to other similarly priced options. Get the deep dish. The sausage is pretty great.Food: 5/5
Beatrix Market has good options, but not great staff... specifically the salad bar lady, she is very rude. My first visit with her she informs me of the DePaul student discount, so I took advantage of it. When looking at my receipt I see the discount, but I also notice a 3% surcharge was added and below said “will be removed upon request” and if I had been more vigilant I would have seen the statement taped on the counter as well. So my next visit I ask for the surcharge removed and the student discount added only 10% by the way and only valid after 1 in the afternoon and she goes “boy you don’t ask for much” I ignore her and she gives me my total, without removing the surcharge. I kindly ask if the charge was removed and she started raising her voice saying “you saw me do it” even though it was clearly there. At the end of my transaction she gets all snarky and sarcastic and tilts her head and says “have a nice day” and doesn’t offer a bag or receipt. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance and I love the lower level, it’s a shame they employ such rude staff.
Hot food is ok and has a fresh salad bar, conveniently located next to DePaul law school. Attention DePaul staff/students, though they claim to offer a 10% discount, the cashier manager advised today at 12:30pm that it doesn't take effect until 1pm til 3:30pm. I was quite puzzled because lunch time usually starts at noon, just FYI if you're looking to save a few pennies.
