A wonderful place to walk in all seasons. The trail is very well maintained. You can see the waterfalls from the top in summer, spring and fall. However in winter you can walk on the creek between the canyon and go to the base of the waterfall. I should add that it is not very safe to do so. Because you are walking on a thin ice on a creek so be very careful and use hiking poles to ensure the next step is safe when you are hiking to the waterfall. I usually see lots of kids and dogs on this trail so it is family friendly. There is also washrooms in the parking lot plus a map. Overall I really recommend to try this hike in winter. It was magical
Very decent hike for the mediocre hiker. I enjoyed the mixed of stairs and the slopes. I would not recommend with little kids as there is very steep trails are there. I enjoyed a lot being first time on this trail. I would also recommend going with hike buddy to support each other in case of emergencies.
This was our favorite park out of the three we visited this summer. We had a lovely lakefront spot, it was so spacious! I absolutely loved the pretty city/ mansion lights at night, it was gorgeous! The lake was a great swimming temperature and we had a blast on paddle boards. My only complaint was that the washrooms were very overused and small for the number of guests. There was only one shower at the washroom nearest to us and it was always pretty muddy. We had such a nice stay here and found some excellent activities in and near Kelowna. We look forward to returning!
A great family campground. Beautiful park for day trips also. Excellent for paddleboarding, with seasonal rentals on kayaks, paddleboards and other water sports, great place to launch your kayak. There’s also some great hiking trails for all levels across the road from the park that winds up into the hills and along bear creek. Shopping and grocery stores, movie theatre and more a short drive back into west kelowna. The park has a playground and lots of grass for kids and families. Sandy beach and lots of it. Highly recommend camping or day tripping to Bear Creek Provincial park.
Great place to camp. Close to trails. Town a few minutes away. Lots of wineries to visit minutes away.
Great hike with cool views into the canyon and stunning lake views. So close to Kelowna too!
Very nice, very clean. I recommend this campground. Enjoy with your family
Rocky little trek up the creek brings you to a beautiful waterfall. Must see!
Best family campground in the Okanagan. Paved roads for bike use, beach access, hiking trails and so much more. Ideal for some good family focused fun.
Great hike, and it is a loop. My 2.5 year old walked this entire hike with me. We started in the morning since about 2/3 of the hike is in direct sunlight. Since the hike is on either side of a canyon, the stronger water run off mid May allows a good cool breeze to be blowing upwards neark the hiking trail. We did the loop starting on the north side, which has a ton of shaded area and about 200 stairs. Then there are some switchbacks, not too steep but more exposed to sunlight. The loop has a number of lookour points from which you can view the canyon, waterfalls and river, Kelowna, Okanagan Lake. At the midpoint of the loop, the trail is level with the river woth a great shaded riverside spot for lunch no benches or tables. After crossing the bridge, there are some more stairs and switchbacks. The path is a little narrow thers but people can pass each other. The south side of the loop was great as well, with some intermittent shade. The last little bit of the trail above the parking lot is more steep and has a risk of rolling pebbles and dirt, without a handrail. Overall, with my toddler and I did this is running shoes in about 2 hours and 15 minutes including a 15 min lunch break.
