Booking available by phone only. We were given a site beside a VERY rude seasonal camper. My dog went to the bathroom on OUR site and we were yelled at that we were exposing them to worms my dogs are seen by vets at least 2-3 times a year so no worms. Another seasonal camper down the road yelled at my kids on their electric scooter and then yelled at my husband that they are not allowed. Ok cool, didn’t see that rule but sure no scooters anymore. Anything with an electric motor golf cart, moped, scooter is banned so seasonal campers are driving around drunk on gas powered LAWN MOWERS with BLADES! How does this make sense?!?!?! Also, small sites and paid showers… I wanted to love this place so much with the beach but was seriously let down. Will not return unfortunately!
The booking is super easy and the lady is such a friendly sweetheart. There are a lot of trailers that have been here for many years and look like they couldn't move if they wanted to. They have a beach volleyball court, play station for kids and 2 horseshoe pits. They have a little beach area with buoys for safety. The transient sites aren't very level. One thing I found extremely cheesy is that they charge you to use the showers. When you're paying $70 per night to stay there, I think that should be free. It bothered me enough to take away a star.
The drinking water has a distinct yellowish tinge to it, we only drank bottled water we had purchased. They charge you for showers, really!! and 25c don't give you much, a decent shower would cost 75c. Not a very safe shower stall for an elderly or anyone with an infirmity. The toilets are clean though the stalls also are very cramped.
The site we had was very unlevel and we had a hard time leveling but that may have been partly due to my inexperience with leveling our 5th wheel in such conditions. Toilets and sinks in the bathrooms were clean but showers were not clean in that there were lots of spiders and cob webs around them which made it icky so we didn't use them. No fresh water at the dump station to rinse or clean with which I thought was odd. The campground as a whole is very run down but the staff working there were very friendly.
We stayed for a weekend with our trailer. This site's weren't that big but the space was very nice. The kids enjoyed the park, the beach and the snack bar. We found all the seasonal campers and the staff to be quite pleasant. All in an we had a nice time. The only thing I wasn't super happy about was a lack of hose at the dump station.
Wow such an amazing friendly clean cozy place to bring the family thank you so much for the experience we will be seeing you all again The Hibberds :
Excellent tenting campsites. Clean washrooms. Beautiful sunsets! Awesome Stonehouse Diner on campground property. Beach area for swimming. Good canoeing, kayaking, fishing area. Two well maintained playgrounds for the kids to play in. Lorraine and staff are friendly and helpful for nearby sightseeing.
My wife and I stayed here for 4 days. The owners were nice people and very helpful. The beach was clean and the washrooms were spotless. we would come back here anytime. We travelled in our 27ft Motorhome.
A family run business for over 70 years.. Lorraine and the office staff always willing to help ..help answers your questions.. a good place to spend the weekend campers always welcome..
The worst place I've ever been to. My car battery died. The office lady did not offer any help. She said nobody here can help me. So I asked a guy on a tractor to help he was nice to help. But he really needed a bath he smelled really bad. Do not go here if your trying to have a nice time horrible place. Smelly people rude office runners.
