A Pakistani restaurant in downtown that always catches my attention. Having finally tried their food, its an easy recommendation to anyone craving for authentic desi-pakistani food. Biryani, chicken Karahi, Kebabs served with piping hot buttery naan are their specialty. The restaurant has a wonderful desi vibe. Their food prices were kind of on the higher side but considering the location, they were reasonable. The service was good but they took 30 minutes to bring our food - which was very delightful, tasty and worth every dollar. I don’t understand why people have bad reviews here. Mine has been the opposite!
not sure why i didn't visit this place sooner! have waited for such a restaurant in Ottawa for years! no more trips to Toronto for me for my Pakistani food cravings. tried the goat karahi, seekh kebabs and malai boti. all three were excellent. the staff/owners were super friendly and welcoming/informative. wishing this place all the best and hoping the food and service quality always stays the same!!
If you are looking for authentic Pakistani food in Ottawa, I’d recommend Bawarchee. Located in core downtown, 5 mins walk from the parliament. I tried their chicken Karhai, it was fresh and tasted great. Kids loved their BBQ platter with fresh baked bread naan. Also tried their biryani which was average. The restaurant is nice and clean and is open up until 2 am at night. Hope this review is helpful.
During my visit to Ottawa I went Bawarchi restaurant as it was a Pakistani restaurant. It was too noisy as there was a gathering of a Pakistani group. I ordered til wala naan and achari chicken. It was more like a homemade food. Naan was not soft not recommended but chicken was fine.Food: 2/5
It is an okay place to try Pakistani food. I ordered malai boti & 1/2 chicken karahi with some Lassi. Malai boti was really good while chicken karahi was like chicken curry, but overall good placd especially when you are coming from the Quebec side and are craving from desi tarka. It costs us around 75-80$ for that much food.
Best food in town. Strongly recommended. Proper pakistani cuisine with authentic flavours. RANA owner has done a tremendous job for making this a wonderful place to dine in.
I went there on Canada days and I sware I was cursing my self why did I go there. The worst food and service I have ever experienced in my life. Rude behavior undoubtedly worst taste of food biryani was like khicdi and parathyroid roll was cold from inside and made with frozen parathyroid. My advice don't go and waste your money.
If you want to end your night with a disastrous dinner hit these guys up. We came here to dine in and the owner recommended the “best dish” chicken karahi and chicken biryani, chicken biryani came early and was microwaved, the chicken karahi came after 20 mins with a hair strand. When we raised our concern regarding the same, first it took the team 10 mins to come to our table post to which the wonderful owner came to our table to say that the hair strand is ours and couldn’t be from the kitchen where I clearly saw none of them wearing a hair net. Someone really needs to teach the owner which business is he serving currently and what should be his reactions, Rather than just pointing a finger on the customer. Such a ridiculous experience. Came here for the first and last time. Great show guys !
Amazing experience, great ambiance at a beautiful location. Great decor, art on the walls and decorations. An authentic Pakistani restaurant. The food was very good, the quality was good and the taste was rich. Highly recommended to anyone, great customer service as well. Will be going very soon again!
Very good. Biryani had a whole leg of chicken, not super oily and a good level of spice. Kebab was juicy. Mango shake tasted real, i.e. it wasn't overly sweetened. Would recommend.
