Unfortunately, this Christmas, I ordered a gift from Baseball Town. This was my first time ordering online from this store and I was a bit hesitant given the many negative reviews online about their customer service.nnFirstly, when the item arrived at our door - in December - it didn’t come packaged inside a shipping box like any reputable company would use for protection. Clearly an attempt to save money. As a result, the item was just placed outside our front door for all to see including our children at Christmas. Strike One.nnSecondly, given the fact Baseball Town didn’t package the item properly, it arrived damaged. Parts of the box were ripped and torn. When I contacted the company, I was told this was an issue for the shipping company. I was provided no additional details about how this issue could be remedied. Baseball Town used this company but took no responsibility when damage occurred to an item. Strike Two.nnThirdly, when I inquired about returning the item, I was told I would have to pay $20 to send the item back to Quebec. This was after I had to initially spend $20 to have the item shipped in the first place. $40 in shipping charges for a product that arrived damaged. Strike Three.nnBaseball Town is OUT!
Large selection of varied sports equipment.
I have mixed feelings about this place. I even had left 5 start in the past.I genuinely enjoy coming here and will continue to visit occasionally. However, my recent experience purchasing a membership package has left me disappointed and frustrated.nMy son and I decided to invest in a package that included a membership card and unlimited batting at the cage, with the understanding that it would be valid for one year. To our surprise, the card expired after just two months. When I raised this issue with the manager, Ernesto, he insisted that he had informed me of the expiration date being February 28th. While I understand that I should have been more vigilant, it's discouraging to feel like my initial trust in the business was misplaced.nWhat's even more disheartening is that my son, 9 who had saved up his own money to contribute towards the membership, was deeply disappointed. It's upsetting to think that his hard-earned savings have essentially been taken advantage of. When I expressed my concerns to Ernesto, he responded in a dismissive and arrogant manner, essentially telling me tough luck because we had used the service a couple of times.i I was the only customer ever to complain about it.nOverall, I'm disillusioned by the management's lack of transparency and customer care. It isn't very pleasant to see a business prioritize short-term gains over the satisfaction and trust of its customers, especially when it involves taking advantage of a kid's savings.
I put in an order for a baseball jersey and immediately the next day, the package was ready to be shipped well before 11am. Its speed only depended on Canada Post by that time, but everything got here and I was happy with the product. I've made online purchases many times in the past and am happy with its service.
Prices are a bit too high. I can easily go to other sporting goods stores and buy the same products for cheaper. What’s good about baseball town is how all their products are good quality, which would explain their price increase, but I would only be willing to spend that much on the exclusive and limited items. Staff are also pretty helpful and friendly.
