Had a great time and caught a lot of fish. Jonathan is an awesome host that truly cares that you are having a fun time. The accommodations were very good, and the boats were perfect for the lake size. Can’t say enough good about the trip, and can’t wait to go back!
We had an awesome fishing trip at Barrington Lake. Took the VIA Rail train in and got off right at the camp. Fishing was good and Johnathan took care of everything we needed.
If anyone wants an honest small fishing or moose hunting business to deal with, don't pick this one! Caveat emptor...Everyone beware! There is no negative star rating as I am forced to give at least one so I can post my review. In March 2020 our hunt group pre-booked a moose hunt at this camp for October 2020. We were skeptical in giving money that early to secure a spot but we were reassured by Jonathan owner in writing: "If you don't get any tag I'd refund your deposit". Well we did not get drawn for any tag so expected our $1500 deposit back as promised by Jonathan. We have now been trying for +5 months to contact Jonathan, but he refuses to return the voicemails, emails or messages on Messenger by several of us and to date we still do not have our refund! We have been more than patient and just cannot believe a small business owner would be this deceitful and dishonest. Some of us are small business owners and we would never think of ghosting a client or treating them in this manner. Our word is our bond, and our morals & values direct us...I guess Jonathan doesn't subscribe to this honourable creed.
Plenty of fish to eat. Beautiful lakes. Jonathan works his butt off. Our group had to release several 20 inch walleyes along with others-you should be catching 1 to 3 dozen/day. Try tactics that you haven't been successful with before so you know how they feel and build confidence. Buddy is like having your own dog on vacation. Thanks!
Jonathan is an awesome owner and his dog buddy was my best buddy the whole trip! We got lots of good tips and direction. Fun cabins and more amenities than we expected! Hopefully this will become an annual event!
Great fishing for Walleye and Northern Pike! Jonathan and his wife worked theirs butts off for us! Would have been 5 stars except the train is more than 7 hours late all the time. Take the fly in option, save you a headache and get more time fishing !!
The experience there was amazing! Johnathan did everything above and beyond our expectations!! The fishing was amazing! Very remote and beautiful area! We will definitely be going back.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. If you're looking for a hunting or fishing camp, look elsewhere because this business has horrible morals and practices. In November 2020, we booked a bear hunt for May 2021. Due to covid and the train schedules not lining up with the season, the dates were continuously changing. It ended up that we were only going to be able to go for a fishing trip, and Jonathan owner informed us that we could get a refund all of this was told in writing over email, photo attached if we didn't want to do the fishing trip - we paid him a total of $2000 in deposits. In mid August I told him we'd like a refund, and then he completely stopped replying to me. I've called, emailed, texted, and messaged his personal and business Facebook pages with zero response. This is an absolutely disgusting way to treat your customers and a horrible way to conduct business.
We had some great fishing with lots of fish both big and small. Jonathon the camp owner bent over backwards to help make our vacation a great stay.
Greatest Fly in over 15 years. Many fish caught both size and numbers. Walleyes on Daredevils.
