Great local spot for drinks and a meal. Quickly becoming one of my go to bars in the area for a casual date night of just a relaxed night with friends. Constantly changing seasonal menu changed in just the two times I went in a month. Not every dish is perfect but at least good to great, I always appreciate the willingness of a restaurant to try new things. Impeccable service in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. I love the casual vibe but never found myself waiting for service. They even have a cute terasse in the warmer months but if not I recommend sitting at the bar. Great wine list but if you’re an amateur like me, the staff is more than capable of helping you make a choice based on taste profile and mood. The cocktails were also on point. Definitely on my recommendation list for places to go in Montreal.
Food was amazing! Tasteful and very original. Nice wine list. Server was a bit pushy and absent though that’s the only reason I put 4 . Ambiance was great too, music not too loud but loud enough. Must try!
Great local neighborhood restaurant bar. Cocktails and wine/beer/cider list. Plates to share on the menu: seafood, meat, veggies. We had some crudo seafood tasty, and some tender pork chops. Ordered a cider from private importation from Sweden. Loved my experience and will go back with friends.
Some really interesting and flavourful cold dishes, delicious cocktails, and cool atmosphere with nice music and not too loud so we could hear each other. We went with the tasting menu, and can highly recommend the scallops and crudo! The reason for 4 stars is because the server didn’t seem to have much knowledge of their whine list, and the warmer dishes, though were tasty, though lacked a little something. The clams for instances were a little over chewy. Still recommend a visit!
First off, make a reservation! This place gets packed. Delicious seasonal food. Probably the best fries I've had in Montreal. Was a little disappointed we were served cold, low quality pita bread with our absolutely delicious tomato appetizer. Good boozy cocktails, excellent wine selection, but not so exciting beer on tap. Service was very friendly, fast, professional. Our welcome at the door was nice, too. The place is a tad loud, so beware if you're looking to have a nice quiet conversation, but the overall ambiance was fun. Prices were very fair. Will certainly return!
Friendly staff and delicious tapas! A great place to go out with a small group of people to share small plates. I had Smelts for the first time at this restaurant, and they were amazing - I could not eat enough of them! I also loved the labneh that they make for the flatbread - it had so much flavour. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is just because some of the dishes were a bit overcooked such as the flat bread BUT I still really enjoyed it!
Amazing meal and service. The food is outstanding. Every dish was almost perfect.
I had high expectations for this place, but they messed up our order and when the order did come, the plates weren’t impressive. But the decor is really nice and overall I’d recommend it as a nice date spot for drinks.
If there's one thing I need to point out about this bar, it's the customer service. I don't remember the last time multiple waiters/waitresses refilling my glass, let alone throughout the night. Absolutely stunned how professional and friendly they are, I wish I got their names because they should be recognized. On top of that, great selection of drinks, from beers, cocktails to even wine. Very nice ambiance as well from the interior decor but the music was a tad bit too loud to hold normal conversation. Phenomenal experience, highly recommend especially since prices are very reasonable.
Our flight to Montreal was canceled. Before rebooking our flights, we rescheduled our reservation for our family dinner at Bar St-Denis via the app. They just called us to let us know "they don't deal with people like us". Thanks, Bar St-Denis. That was a wonderful way to be spoken to while stranded in an airport. Happy holidays to y'all.
