Been going here for probably over a decade and the food is always incredible, consistent, and huge portions. The bacon/cheese omelette and the Canadian omelette are huge, you definitely get what you pay for! The service is wonderful! If I had to offer any constructive criticism it would be the decor- it is absolutely beautifully decorated however with all of that, it is hard to keep dust away. Some of the artificial plants were caked with dust. Won’t keep me away though!
Service was amazing, the server remembered our names and went above and beyond to make sure the table was happy.nnThe food prices seem high but the portions were pretty large.nnThe atmosphere is neat very different spot
I went here & tried my first ever Touton. It was delicious, soft & fluffy, not greasy at all. The crab cakes were nice and thick, plenty of crab pieces. Egg, hollandaise & beans as well all paired very nicely together. Even though the place was busy the service was still fast & efficient. Staff were lovely & helpful. Would recommend to anyone visiting St Johns. It was great getting some traditional Newfoundland cuisine
Last month I visited St. John's for the first time. My first breakfast in town was down the street from my hotel at a cozy little place called the Bagel Cafe. I was greeted by a charming young woman with a friendly smile who sat me at a small table by the front window. First time in NL, I'm drinking in the culture. I opened the menu and was jaw dropped .... what to order ? It all sounded amazing ... I decided on one of the Benedicts .. with crab cakes, poached eggs, hollandaise and lox on top, potatoes on the side. The coffee was really hearty and delicious. I could barely finish it all .. it was over the top delicious. I came back here twice in the next few days before I left to come home.
Having seen reviews to this restaurant, I wanted to try the toutons. In my opinion, it was similar to a deep fried dough. It did give a good complimentary texture to the savory bean and crispy bacon. I would rate the presentation 10/10. However, the quality is 8/10. Fruits were fresh and plentiful. The service was great and attentive. I went after the busy lunch service 2pm and was served no more than 10 minutes of ordering. Would recommend a try!
