Baby Dhal Roti Shop

Met some friends here for a Sunday lunch. We were there for opening on a Sunday at noon and they had to open late due to some difficulties. They handled the situation well and let us know right away and we went for a walk and chilled until they were ready. Came back and had the chicken roti, doubles, chicken curry on rice, and some drinks. Our entire group really enjoyed the food 5/5. The drinks were also a big hit. We would recommend medium spice for flavour and hotness. If you like this style of food, you should definitely come and check this place out. If you’ve never had this type of food, then you should try it. We will be back again some day. Loved the food and service!

WOW The most tender, delicate dough, jam packed with full on flavour. Super tender filling and lots of it so go hungry. Music on a mixing board with turntable was a neat surprise. Love Roy and the crew

Born and raised in Trinidad here and this is the real deal! Their dhalpuri roti is perfectly seasoned and soft, but strong enough to hold all the curry! Their oxtail was also fall off the bone tender and ridiculously flavourful. One of the few places in this city to get authentic doubles Great old school roti shop vibes! I highly recommend!

The picture of the doubles would not reflect how good they are. The dough is super soft and the chickpeas melt in your mouth; super flavourful. Real authentic food and the lady at the cashier is super friendly. I look forward to going there again and trying more stuffs from their menu. I also tried their beef curry with dhal puri and it slaps

Stewed oxtail and the roti were delishhh. ~Was a lil surprised that coleslaw is sold as a side~ Looking forward to trying other things on the menu, stoked that there is a Trini spot in town Food: 5/5

Finally a good roti shop in Vancouver. Paratha buss up shot was buttery, light and perfectly flakey. Proper Trini roti. Goat was chef's kiss. Channa was mild for personal taste but easily solved adding one's own pepper. Aloo pie and pholourie were great. The house tamarind sauce GREAT. They were out of doubles when I went, but of course will be heading back multiple times. Update: went back for doubles and they are legit authentic *slow clap*. The bara was so light and fluffy a thing I can't even manage in my own kitchen. The channa again was a bit mild in flavour, maybe needed a pepper kick so give ppl options for toppings? But loved the tamarind drizzle. Look forward to maybe in future getting some cucumber chow option for toppings.

Fantastic Caribbean restaurant, I was referred by my friend Edgar. To say I am grateful for another Trinidad, Caribbean food spot in Vancouver, is an understated. Everything is super high quality, the staff is amazing, the spice is RIGHT! I hope this place stays open forever, go baby dhal go! If you ever need another team member I’m here! The chicken roti is unreal. The curry goat and oxtail is superior to anywhere in town. Authenticity is and we finally found it here!!!!!!!

Food was amazing. The flavours were so exciting. Even though I'de never had Trinidadian food before, it immediately felt like comfort food from childhood. The Roti just melted in your mouth. Some of the friendliest service I've ever received. 6/5.

I’m not Trini, but I lived there for 8 years and hadn’t had real Trini food in almost 9. I was super excited to get buss up shot and curry chicken and I couldn’t hide my disappointment when I found out they were sold out of buss up shot. It’s hard to suppress 9 years of anticipation. The owners were super kind and apologetic even though it’s not their fault they sold out of a popular item. The food was authentic and everything I had hoped it would be! I tried the doubles the night before and if I closed my eyes, stood in the sun, and blasted some Soca I’d almost think I was standing right beside the doubles man. I’ll definitely call ahead for next time!
