Saw a lot of hype generated for this restaurant on social media and boy did it deliver! Awesome spot for a day trip on the ferry from Seattle. Our server was very friendly and gave us some awesome recommendations, including the chicken buns which were SO good. I also tried the chili prawn noodles which were oily but in the most delicious way. Definitely going here again the next time I'm out in Bainbridge! Decent street parking in this area.
Happily surprised. I was visiting some friends who moved to the Island a few years ago and when I said I was famished they said you have to try this new place that open downtown. Wow where they right. We sat down at the peak of the lunch rush so we ended seated at the bar which was just fine with me. We ordered an arrange of items so I could get the full experience. This small plates arrived one at a time as they were ready and boy was I happily surprised. Everything was so delicious. If you find yourself visiting Bainbridge I’d highly recommend.
Amazing food, which you could guess by the long line and wait outside. The seating and aesthetic of the place is the first thing you notice with plenty of outdoor/patio seating, a good size bar, wood accents everywhere and everything as clean as could be. The service was great, although the food did take a little long to come out, the taste of it made up for that. Menu selection was great and the prices were what you would expect for a place as nice as this. Overall, its hard to find a negative about Ba-Sa, would definitely recommend, but remember it gets super busy!
Great find at our second time in Bainbridge island. Loved pretty much all the dishes we ordered. Since we like spicier food we asked for chef special spicy sauce and boy that was a hit! Don’t think you can go wrong with any of the dishes. We will definitely come back!!
Just went in to try a few dishes, and they knocked our socks off! Taro Egg Rolls, Spicy Truffle Wonton, and the Chicken Buns were all dynamite. Great service too: speedy, and our server was the bomb. Highly recommend - some of the best Vietnamese cuisine I’ve had.
Ba Sa was a real treat on our trip to Bainbridge. We managed to snag seats at the bar without a reservation and that's absolutely how I'd choose to be seated again. The energy at the bar was great, with lively and consistent service. The food options weren't the largest vietnamese menu I've seen before, but what was available all looked great. The food we ordered was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the pho. Cocktails were similarly tasty, but I want to highlight the excellent whiskey options available as well. Was not expecting to get an amazing neat pour of bourbon at a fair price here! Will absolutely return next time we're on Bainbridge.
My husband and I ate here while on vacation and we're not disappointed. The food was amazing and super unique! I don't think I've had wild boar or pandan creme brulee before! Even common Vietnamese dishes, like spring rolls, was so delicious and served beautifully. I highly recommend Ba Sa!
Things look much better than they taste. Overall, Ba Sa was disappointing. I made the trek over from Seattle to eat here and ordered the taro rolls, steak vermicelli noodles and ground pork stir fry. The vermicelli noodles were way overcooked and ruined the entire dish due to their mushy texture. The ground pork stir fry was a little better but the noodles were also overcooked and the dish was so incredibly salty. The taro rolls were a hit but as that was the appetizer, there wasn't much to go around. Service was a let down. It took longer to get our check than it did our food and our waitress forgot about us so I had to flag down another server. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it here. The hype is all it is: hype.
Delicious food! I loved the chicken buns the most! That garlic rice was amazing. Butter beef was good too. The service was quick and polite.
Food was great! We came before 01:00pm and got a table immediately. It did get busy afterwards with a waiting time. Loved the green sauce that came with the truffle jojos potato wedges. The taro egg rolls and the chili lime calamari quite a large portion were also great. A special mention for the banh-mi bread that was perfectly toasted and a great texture.
