The food was amazing. It reminds me of places my parents would take Me when I was a kid. Not too loud, good food and as a female dining alone you don't feel weird by yourself. Could be elegant and even romantic. I will confess to having been the youngest there during my time eating. But I don't really think that is the regular makeup of the patronage. Just my luck at the time. If you like a good steak, you need to go here.

We’ve had some amazing meals at this classic steakhouse. You may too. This location is much different than some of the other Axels locations. This one mixes a mean drink, offers fresh popovers and serves a great steak, but the prices are high, the decor is dated and the ventilation needs improvement. We loved the Sunday 1/2 priced apps and wines by the bottle, but that ended. $16 for a butterfly shrimp app is pretty stout and a $100 dinner should be flawless and a lot less crowded, imho. I hope that they update and bring back some value for those to whom money IS important. Several service errors have brought this review down another star. Incorrect orders and steak doneness shouldn’t be considered common at this price level. Maybe we’ve had some bad luck, but the managers were always kind in correcting the errors. Waiting for news of improvement to bring us back to our once-favorite restaurant.

Happy hour deals not bad. Bar tender was not friendly, and did not care. Ample seating and parking. Food was good.
