Fine Cuisine Turque

Story

The center of Ottoman cuisine was Istanbul, the capital, where the imperial court and the metropolitan elites established a refined culinary tradition bringing together elements of regional cuisines from across the empire:

...despite the disintegration of the Ottoman political empire, we can still see the survival of a large region which could be called the Ottoman culinary empire. The Balkans, Greece, Anatolia and the Fertile Crescent... are common heirs to what was once the Ottoman life-style, and their cuisines offer treacherous circumstantial evidence of this fact. Of course, they represent at the same time a good deal of local or regional culinary traditions. Besides, one should not forget that it is typical of any great cuisine in the world to be based on local varieties and on mutual exchange and enrichment among them, but at the same time to be homogenized and harmonized by a metropolitan tradition of refined taste.

Loved the healthy options at this restaurant and the fact that it offers halal meat! The meat is cooked to perfection alongside a crunchy salad. Loved the decorations and beautiful atmosphere that is created here. The table cloths and attention to detail is exceptional. I really enjoyed the customer service that we received here, as the waiter and all staff were very nice. Background music isn't too loud either and creates a atmosphere as if you were actually in turkey
Amazing spot ! We randomly found this restaurant walking towards the metro. This place is a gem. Tasty authentic Turkish food! The spices in each dish were phenomenal! Love the pita/bread they serve with the hummus ! 1000/100 would recommend!
Very special experience in this turkey restaurant. I have never tasted such flavor, especially the yogurt with spicy sauce lol. There are many people with middle eastern dressing therefore this restaurant must present authentic Turkish food.
Avesta is a cozy Turkish restaurant that is located in a very strategic location in down town. The place is clean and the decoration is nice. The staff is nice too. Our waitress was cute and kind. I went with my friend for an early dinner. We ordered the “Burak” as an entry spinach with fita cheese. It was ok but not that tasty as the buraks I tried before in turkey. I ordered the “Kuftah” and my friend ordered “Iskandar plate” with tomato sauce and yoghurt aside. My Kuftah was tender and nice. The aside salad was not that tasty no enough lemon juice and salt. The meat in my friend’s plate was good but the tomato sauce gave it a sweet flavour. Then we ordered the kunafah, as we heard a lot about it, with Turkish tea. It was below our expectations. Very sugary, not enough cheese as the kunafah we know and a bit burnt from the bottom. It was edible but not wow. Everything was good. I put 4 stars instead of 5 for the tasteless stuff we had in our orders. Kindly, suggest to add more spices and dried herbs to improve the flavours of the meat and the salad.
The location is well located! The staff is nice and the food is delicious! Thank you for this experience! The restaurant decoration is really genuine! I appreciate the tea. :Food: 5/5
I am born in İstanbul Turkey. For several years my husband and I were passing by this restaurant. Today we have decided to enter and have an early supper. Time was 4pm. Except for a table of 4 the restaurant was empty. We were early for supper time. We felt lucky. We got a table for 2. Ordered a beer each, and 3 hors d'oeuvres package for $20... the lavash bread was fresh and done in the store. The hors-d'oeuvres were delicious. The ambiance is wonderful. Turkish music was playing in the background. As we were still in the middle of eating our hors-d'oeuvres the server brought our main courses. Too early. We were the only customers in the restaurant. The plates were not warm upon their arrival. Yogurt was great. So was my iskender kebab. But cold. My husband's mantı was quite doughy and just only luke warm.
Quaint turkish restaurant with cute decor on the inside. They had a lady making fresh bread by the entrance which added a nice feel to the place. Food was good, but perhaps slightly bland. Would still go back anyway.
It’s so good for service and food, made me feel I’m in Turkey. Every plate of food comes natural highly recommended for this restaurant to whoever travelers Or Turkish. It’s excellent!!!
I love Turkish food! I have been to turkey four times and I have never had a bad experience with their food. That's why I would say compared to authentic Turkish food, the food you get here does not do the justice. We all liked the mezzes plate with their freshly baked bread:
Well well well the experience has been good and service is still good. To the food now. There isn't that much vegetarian options, but what was served was good. We had a few different plates and starter. The lavash bread that is freshly made, was good not as good as pre-covid was more soft. The fillet minion plate was good, but was well done in some areas so it was a little dry and tough. Tasted good though but not that great that I remember. Will I order it again? Of course, I am the meat eater in the group and I seem to always order beef... so is this a negative review? No just saying how this experience was at the end of the evening. Next time, will God during the afternoon and see. We were told at the start that prices have changed. I will assume it is covid pricing like everyone is getting hit with pricing increase. That is fine but dinner for 4 with no drinks but water and tip was over 120$10%. Will I go back? Yes I will and I know this is not MacDonalds to have the same consistency 99% of the time. But sometimes I hope I will get it and I love this place. Just tonight I wanted to give my 2cents.
