Awful driver, loved his breaks. Had no idea where he was going Ended up at a road block and still charged me an additional £6 for the pleasure 30mph speed limit.......nope the driver would do 21-26mph 60mph he would do 37!!!! Awful service, the admin team were equally as useless
Dreadful service! I ordered two taxis to take 8 elderly passengers to and from Seven Hills crematorium on 27th March. The outward journey was fine, but only 1 car was sent to collect on the return journey. The other 4 passengers had to wait 25 minutes after the agreed pick up time despite them calling Avenue asking where the cab was. These cars were booked and paid for 5 days in advance - absolutely no excuse. The driver who did finally collect the elderly passengers said he had only been asked to take the fare 15 minutes AFTE the agreed collection time. I rang to complain and they said they would get back to me with an explanation - they have not provided any explanation or offered any recompense. Avoid them!!
Amazing Service! Got me home safely. I had accidentally left my phone in the car plus over paid the driver without realising and had got out before he could catch me. The next morning I found my phone plus the change for the ride in my dogs food bowl just outside! Honestly don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for the drivers kind gesture and quick thinking!! I really hope he see's this so I can thank him! Would definitely recommend.
Cab driver was patient, understanding, helpful, altogether, awesome. Shortage of cars meant we needed a mpv taxi to take relatives to mother-in-laws funeral. Driver followed Hurst and was very respectful. A great service provided.
I have been recommended Avenue taxis by our wedding venue, and while I've always used another taxi company I decided to give Avenue Taxis a try. I initially called to make a booking for 4 vehicles on 30th April, was told I need to email. I emailed the same day. There was no reply for the week, I then called on the 4th of May, the person I spoke to found my email and assured me he'd email me back and give a quote. Still nothing on 7th May, I called again, only to be told that it's the boss who needs to reply and "he'd be here tomorrow". "Tomorrow" was a bank holiday and when I called again I was told the boss was not in - so why say he'd be there? I was once again assured he would reply to my email the following day, which is 9th May, 10 days after the initial query. And still no reply. I think it's safe to say that I will not be using Avenue Taxis, they are clearly very unreliable and this is not what I need on my wedding day.
I unfortunately cannot rate lower than a 1 star otherwise I would. I called up for a taxi and had an extremely rude call operator. I was trying to find out how long a wait was for a taxi and very abruptly I was told “if you hurry up and give the number or he will be gone”. No one should be spoken to so rudely or shouted at down the line. My friend heard the woman on the line response and she was sitting on the other side of the room to me. I will certainly avoid using this company at all costs. If the person who was so rude to me reads this comment I suggest for you to be kinder and think about how you would like to be spoken to.
My brother in law & myself paid for a taxi from Ipswich to capel, capel to colchester and paid upfront which they were happy to do. When I arrived home they charged me an extra £50 which I wasn’t happy to pay when I said I had already paid another car turned up and a man started threatening me! I’m currently look for cctv footage as I didn’t get dropped to the house and will be taking this further!
Literally just went round the corner to a couple shops, £16. I have used cabs for 30 years and could not understand why they were so much more than hawk express. Not again.
Shocking service by Avenue Taxis. Booked well over a week ago and also called up a few days later to add an additional address. Come the morning when the taxi is supposed to arrive I'm told that no taxi will be coming to pick me up due to school pick ups. No one mentioned this to me when I added the additional address to the booking. Bloody awful! Do not use this company! The next section was added after receiving their reply. Their reply to my initial review is below The whole point to my complaint was that no one contacted me on the day I called as I had a feeling something was wrong or told me a pick up at 8am would be impossible. I even asked the call handler when I called to add the additional address, if 8am was enough time to get to the station. Sort it out, you should have enough taxis to cover school pick up and business. And you didn't cancel the booking I did! A really bad way to run a business! Booked a taxi from Ipswich Station about 4 days in advance. I got a phone call the night before confirming my booking. Came to 11:20 when my taxi was booked and no one showed up. I waited 10 mins, still no show so I rang and asked where my taxi was. I was then told they only had 4 taxis in today so no one was coming. They had one minibus I needed a taxi for 6 people or 2 normal cars, which on booking wasn't a problem but it was 20 minutes away and would "get to me it when it can". When I asked why they had let me book online and confirmed it when they couldn't guarantee they'd have enough taxis on I was met with "well everyone is in the same boat as you" - oh great so you've let multiple customers down today!! When I again tried to explain this wasn't good enough and I wasn't prepared to wait another 20 minutes and likely more for my taxi they put the phone down on me!! Luckily we got 2 taxis from the taxi rank outside the station and managed to get to our event on time. Shocking service, if only I had read the reviews before as I can see they make a habit of this! Cue the reply saying "we have thousands of satisfied customers a day".... yeah right!
