AVALON is one of Calgary's most established hair salons. We are located in downtown Calgary right off17th ave Sw. We've been in hair industry since the 70's. We are a multiple award winning salon.
The staff at Avalon has worked with top models including Miss Universe 2013, and is a proud sponsor of the Miss Calgary Pageant since 1979. With over 40 years in the industry, Avalon Salon has a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to serving you

Avalon staff are simply fantastic. They are professional and welcoming. 
For anyone nervous about waxing, the ladies are extremely comforting and quick. Not to mention that their prices for waxing are surely the best in the city. I’ve also had my hair done and I was more than happy with the results. One thing I’ve observed about Avalon Salon is there was not a person that walks without a smile on their face.

Nice staff and very welcoming I called the day before and even tho they were all booked they gave me the appointment with hassan. I asked for short haircut and I already had a short hair grown up from previous cut . I showed him the picture of the cut i wanted maybe 10 times. and at the end the length was shorter than what I asked for and there was not much texture & edge. I was even giving him direction on which toll to use to make a smooth side cut. I checked all the reviews before I go there and I even showed him my previous haircut. long story shout he might be good at giving men short cut but he has not done many for women. If you are looking for pixie or fancy short haircut This is NOT the place you would go to.

I've been getting waxes from Randa here for about two years now, and absolutely love the service. They just renovated the salon and it's clean, bright, and gorgeous. She's great at fitting in appointments last minute and I'm always happy with the results 😁. I'd definitely recommend!

The waxing service here is terrible.  Came in for Brazilian and the room is right in the middle of the salon, with open ceilings.  She barges in without knocking and I was standing there bottomless.  While the door is open people could definitely see in if they were looking because it's right in the middle!  

She starts waxing me without gloves!  And wasn't pulling the skin taught at all so it was extremely painful.  And worst of all, it was not clean.  See pictures.  Save yourself the money (and pain) and go somewhere else.

I’m not sure. While I liked the service and friendly staff, my second haircut there turned out so so. Firs cut was great, Hassan made suggestion on brand new hair style which I went for and liked. Second time, my hair cut looked like a bowl cut, it was a kiss for me. I’m not really sure if I wanted to go back for third time?
