I know that many people love this place. I'll do my best to justify why I just can't give them 5 or even 4 stars. First, even with current inflation in the US, their prices are a little high. Yes, the quality of their sandwiches, pastry and drinks is above average...just not much higher than that in my opinion. Next, even though I do understand the origin of their policy of having a combination lock on the one restroom, it doesn't work for me. Most of the employees are nice...a few much more than nice. Unfortunately, over the years, now and then I run into those who not only obviously don't like their job...they have actually been surly with me. My friends that I normally meet there like the drinks and pastries. I actually met them there with my now deceased wife almost 2 decades ago. So, I'm not at all new to the establishment. Some of the details of things pre-pandemic are a bit hazy to me...but I do remember learning about the owners and not feeling nor hearing favorable things about her/them from the original employees. Further, more often than not, the place is not very clean. Yes, they have long hours and a clientele that hangs out...perhaps making it difficult...but seldom do I see anyone making the floors, counters, chairs, restroom singular even what one would call an average clean. Perhaps a 3 1/2 would be more fair than a 3...but it doesn't seem possible. Again, most people are happy with it and there are some nice things like an outdoor waterfall, water fountain and water path around the property. Outdoor seating, umbrellas, covered seating... 2 count them TWO parking spaces, one of which is a handicap space. Your mileage may vary but personally I NEVER seek the place out...I will join others there though. Vegetarian options: They do have sandwiches without meat...some with cheese, others without. Kid-friendliness: While some families bring the young ones...and seem to do alright...to me, it isn't a place that is 'friendly' to kids. Parking: Almost non-existent. 2 onsite spaces, one of which is a handicap space. Normally I have to park on the street...sometimes 3 blocks away or so. Wheelchair accessibility: One handicap parking space and cutouts in the curb...and no barriers at the doors. There may be a rail in the restroom, not sure. I doubt if the restroom door meets ADA guidelines.
Well this place is more of like a cafe and study/work. On a October monday night it was crowded however you will still find enough place to grab a chair and sip a late night coffee. For vibe and ambiance 5 star however I ordered a pumpkin pie latte - the flavor of the season and it was below average compared to other cafe's around. I could taste the pumpkin not blended with the rest of the drink. However based on the number of people in there, I am sure they have other drinks which are a hit on their menu. Will try next time. Parking: Even if you do not find parking, the block around does have ample amount of space for parking.
I do smoothies well myself and am by extension, slightly picky, but I can't seem to manage a peach smoothie. This place nailed it and is in my top 3 smoothies of all time. Chicken Rustica was as good as you would expect from the ingredients. Fudge cake okay, pretty. Basically my thought is they excell at the less average, so if it sounds a bit more unique, like the first two, get it. I will be back.
Came here to work the cafe is nice limited parking great sandwiches and coffee theirs one bathroom that you need to ask for a code to use. Multiple outlets available to charge devices. One wall outlet in the corner is broken and doesn’t hold anything plugs just fall out. The staff is great overall great atmosphere and music.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
The coffee was good, the atmosphere was pleasant, the food looked borderline gourmet. I definitely plan on going back. I recommend this place for sure if you want to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend.
Not greeted on entry, first time there, not obvious where and who to speak to. Ordered Americano and bagel with cream cheese. Food is gathered at the right of the ordering area middle and drinks to the left. Not well marked. Toasted bagel was wonderful, great texture and flavor. Americano was nice, not too dark, velvety, good roast. Setting is really nice, outside seating has a waterfall lots of covered tables, good inside seating too. Parking: Not much on property, 2 spots and 1 more 10 minute pickup spot. Street parking.
This is a wonderful spot. Getting car serviced but needed a little extra breakfast.- coffee was very good, pastry was Devine and a bagel was also tasty
I've lived about two blocks from this café for quite some time. While my wife and I always walk in, parking is noticeably limited with only a couple spots in the lot, but there is usually a good amount of street parking. I'd say it is the perfect local coffee shop. The coffee and food are certainly above average, but don't take that as a bad thing. Above average drink/food is pretty great for a coffee shop. Prices can feel a bit high, but I struggle to think of any other coffee shop that I've been to that was notably cheaper. It is truly a neighborhood shop, and most customers want to hang around, talk with friends, or do some work/studying. It has an excellent, inviting atmosphere. The employees have a range. Some are genuinely friendly and chatty, while others are polite but not notably jovial. As someone who isn't always keen to engage in small talk I'm happy with either personality really. Sometimes it's okay to have your order taken and coffee made without acting like best friends!
I love this coffee shop! The coffee is always really great, the iced vanilla latte is my favorite. They have amazing sandwiches for lunch, please try the ham and provolone! I love sitting inside, great atmosphere. I love being outside and enjoying the AMAZING water features! It’s more beautiful then my own backyard!
Loved the atmosphere, especially with all the lights at night! I highly recommend their dark chocolate mocha hot or cold. Personally, I like it iced. Great place to show up with your book/laptop, and just have a coffee and/or some snack. If you bring friends, I recommend sitting outside it's nice.Food: 5/5
