* One star for the really cute place - themed rooms were nicely done, entry area is cute, and we enjoyed the Alice in Wonderland room - I'm guessing we were seated there because we had kids with us, but the adults also liked the decor. * One star for most of the food being pretty tasty see detailed reviews of what we ordered below and no complaints about anything from either kid. ***Three stars OFF for the hour and 40 minutes we waited to get any food, the lack of typical server friendliness/courtesy, lack of an explanation or apology at any point for the extreme delay, the amount of food served for $15 the Little Darling tea - see photo, the substitution of a miniscule sugar cookie for a mini scone in same meal she said she was out - why not just cut a regular one in half?, the lack of explanation about said substitution until I asked about the missing scone, etc. etc. I understand places are understaffed right now, but I have never in my life waited even an hour for food without at least an explanation or quick apology from someone. I have also not received substitutions without apology or explanation. Had we not been there with friends, we would have surely left before the food arrived. THE FOOD Tea: tasty and decent variety, although the herbal tea section of the menu was a little confusing since it was labeled "Black and Herbal Teas" even though black teas were listed first/separately at the top. Only some of the teas in that section were herbal. ICED tea: note that they will not ice it in the kitchen. It will be delivered hot as usual, along with a pitcher of ice for you to maneuver into your cup and pour the tea over obviously it waters it down - though it was still tasty enough. Also, if you order the same tea as a tablemate, they will give you a shared pot of tea which also felt miserly. We were both still charged for tea separately her as part of her tea order and me as a standalone to go with my sandwich. It's not like they used double the amount of tea leaves. Chicken salad & egg salad sandwiches: tasty, well received Scones: more like thick biscuits, didn't meet our expectations. Only came with one topping and extra charge added for each additional topping it's quite common to receive 2-3 spreads at other tea places, included in the price, so this felt a bit miserly. Caramel bread pudding: although not at all like bread pudding I've had before, it was tasty. It was several slices of tasty eggy? cinnamon? raisin bread in a little dish with caramel sauce and cream over/around it. Little Darling tea for children age 10 & under: $15 for three tiny triangles of sandwich, the equivalent of about one medium strawberry, and two teeny tiny treats one of which should have been a mini scone. I have a petite 8-year-old kid and normally tea provides so much food, I thought this would be perfect for her, but she was notably disappointed when the plate was set in front of her and I worried she would still be hungry. No way would this satisfy the average 10-year old, as it was about 10-15 bites of food total. As mentioned above, no explanation of the missing scone until I flagged down the server and asked apparently the quarter-sized sugar cookie seemed a good replacement to them, but not to us. Turkey/brie/cranberry sandwich: I ordered it on sourdough and it was pretty solid. Nothing fancy, but good. I ordered a half and was mistakenly brought a whole, so I scraped the brie off half and let my kiddo eat it since her meal was basically half a child's lunch.
We had a bachelorette brunch here today and it was wonderful! Angela was helpful and receptive to the needs of our party. We had an extra person show up and a gluten free dietary restriction that she was able to accommodate last minute. The rooms are adorably decorated. It was a fantastic experience!
Such a wonderful place! Angela is so helpful and communicative. Every need was met for our bridal shower party. Food was delicious and lovely tea size fun. Huge selection of teas! There are even gluten free options!
Went for my Mom’s birthday, had reservations and only table in the restaurant. We were there for two hours with little to no service just for sandwiches and salads. No refill on tea water, no I’ve water, the server rarely checked on us. She didn’t make soup but couldn’t tell us why? No apple and cheddar sandwiches because she didn’t buy apples? She wasn’t very apologetic for anything. The experience was less than desirable, we won’t be back. Sad because we used to love it there!
This used to be a wonderful place to go but now with the new ownership, it's terrible! I went there with a few family members expecting it to be like it has been in the past. I ordered the cranberry turkey sandwich $12.00 for just the sandwich and received it on cheap white bread, deli turkey instead of real turkey breast and a very thin layer of cranberry and what sort of tasted like creamed cheese. In the past, the bread was quality and seemed home made and the turkey was a slice off of a turkey breast with a generous layer of both cream cheese and cranberry sauce. Some of the items that were ordered by others at the table were tasteless or not worth eating. The service was ridiculously slow, the owner inattentive and less than genuinely friendly. We asked her to take a picture of us together and she seemed put off and said "if I do this you have to tag me on Facebook". The previous owner had treated her guests with care and was friendly and genuinely happy we were there.. We will not go back and are so sad to see such a fun place become what it has.
This is our favorite British style afternoon tea/high tea destination in the whole greater Seattle area. Fine food, service and an impressive menu. The decor and multiple rooms will please you as well as your date. Reservations are a good idea during busy afternoons and most holidays/special days. Closed during Covid pandemic Attic Secrets reopened for service May 5 2021 even better than before. Soup of the day is posted at entry - never had a bad soup but especially loved the pea soup, tomato bisque, potato soup and recently the WONDERFUL chili. Recently heard they will be offering clam chowder and looking forward to trying that.
An adorable venue with a large selection of tea, delicious food, and a very attentive staff. Good place for private events, playing board games with friends, or picking up fresh loose leaf tea.Food: 5/5
This high tea is great. Lots of great things to eat. We got the Grand Lady tea. I highly recommend this if you are REAL hungry. Food is excellent. $23.99 each. Not bad for high tea. You can order off the menu too. We love high teas. We were in Canada for high tea yesterday. Gwendolyn was our server and very attentive.
Love coming here for a peaceful afternoon, brought my mom here for her birthday because we love this tea room so much. You can pick your own unique cup, each room is designed differently and uniquely hand painted, the tables and chairs are always adorable and the entire atmosphere is quaint. Lovely things to purchase including a lot of handmade things and of course amazing food for adults and children. Also great for small parties and even baby showers! My 3 year old son had a lovely time, of course children are always welcome as long as they can be kept under control.
Such a cute place! We did The Grand Lady high tea and it was amazing. You get so much food and it was all delicious. The tea selection is huge too. I'll definitely be back!
