This was a nice find. We needed to while away some time and looked up coffee shops and found this one. No problem finding parking and the place itself is large and well laid out. The coffees and foods offered reminded us of European shops we've been to. Coffee was good and pastries were first rate.
A niche service that isn't easily found around Metro Detroit: all-day 7am-10pm all-week versatile cafe space, with a satisfying variety of food and beverage offerings, and a satisfactory but not ideal quality of design. I compare this to one other cafe that is centered around working and studying; Atomic boasts a much nicer vibe and higher quality furniture, but a smaller yet satisfactory menu. If there are updates I would crave: - more electric outlets/power strips. - add seats with arm-rests to relieve shoulder strain.
The rose cardamom latte is delicious! And sandwiches can be converted to bowls. Lots of seating. Super friendly staff.
It was my first time visiting Atomic. Their kitchen closes at 2pm, so their only menu after 2pm is pastries and drinks. I got the ham croissant and a latte. The croissant was definitely stale and unsatisfying. I dined in and noticed that they gave me my order in disposable cups and paper, but other dine in customers were given real dishware. I would have also liked the more sustainable option of washable dishware, but wasn't offered the option. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance, register, tables, and bathrooms are all of the same level. I noticed their floors are tiled and in several areas the tiles were missing, which could be a tripping hazard. They have additional seating that has steps, but most of the seating is on the same level. There's a variety of seating options as well: benches, couches, tables with movable chairs.
Been here a few times and they are consistently good, especially their lattes. My favorite is the cardamom rose latte; not too sweet and not overly floral, either. Just the right balance. Their prices are a bit steep spent almost $20 on a 12 oz latte and a bagel sandwich, but the quality does not disappoint. Can’t comment much on the dine in experience as I’ve always ordered to go, but they have a lot of seating and I always see people studying here. Would recommend.
Great Flat White Espresso, good service and I like the atmosphere and vibe. Nice place to sit and enjoy a good Coffee.
After all these years, it’s still a solid place to go. But I remember it used to be better, especially the service quality. The items are also a bit over priced.
Interesting mix of cosy corners and work-style desks, certainly enough space to not feel rushed. The coffee roasts are certainly on the darker / stronger side, which mod not be everybody's cup of coffee.
Overrated. They’re a nice spot without a ton of competition so I understand the love they get. But their prices are pretty outrageous. A latte, cold brew, and 2 croissants just cost me $24. Also, their menu that hangs above the check out area is less than effective. It has 0 description of their drinks, many of which are just called “something bear”. How am I supposed to know what a King Kong cold brew is? Dessert oasis down the street is just as good with more fair prices.
Atomic Coffee is my number 1 spot in Royal Oak! Not only do they have amazing coffee, but the service is always amazing. It's a great spot to post up and do some work, read, or catch up with a friend. It's very spacious and always very clean : P.s. the honey vanilla late is my favorite!
