We got to Atlas 20 minutes before closing, having just finished skiing. The staff didn't make a fuss at all, and made us feel very much welcomed. We even ordered dessert and stayed a good 40 minutes past their closing time, and yet not once did they rush us. But beyond the amazing service, the food was SUPERB! I was a bit skeptical at first, as I usually am with menus that have such a wide range of different cuisines (they had French, Mexican, Asian, Italian, and the list goes on and on). However, all the food was fantastic! The quality was consistent even through the dessert - their fruit crumble is a MUST HAVE. I haven't had a dining experience this good since Araxi in Whistler, and that was 5 times the price. Great prices, great portions, great food, great service. This place is fantastic!

Googled a place to go for breakfast after a day up the mountain, so glad we checked this place out! Great food, nice atmosphere, great server! (Thanks Ivan! Your hilarious) Love how its tucked away in Courtenay, a hidden gem. Highly recommended.

Sunday in Courtenay... and it's lunch time. What's open?? We found Atlas Cafe open, and as busy as a any weekday. Ordering was relatively easy but delivery to the table took a bit of extra time. Could it be someone called in sick?? I'll go with that. When the food arrived we were all pleasantly surprised. Full marks for presentation, ( we do eat with our eyes too), so thankfully it wasn't the chef that was MIA. Food was properly prepared and the composition was better than average. Service was quite good so I would go back. There may be readers who will wonder that if I liked the food and service why didn't I rate it with 5 stars. IMHO, the rating system needs a realignment to reflect reality. The difference between like and love is significant. If a middle of the road establishment gets an easy 5 star rating, where is the incentive to improve?
