This was our first time visiting Astoria and we were not disappointed. The server fired up the Saganaki with flare, the food was fresh and tasty. Even when a group of about 20 people came in, the server wasn't phased at all and remained efficient and professional. We were particularly pleased with the decor and atmosphere. A simply lovely dining experience.
Was going for Deli after picking up car from mechanic but they close dining area at 3pm. Decided on Greek food as an alternative and we went to our go-to place, Astoria in Richmond Hill. We ordered 2-Large Pork Souvlaki Dinners with Grilled Pork Skewer W/Tzatziki Sauce, Seasoned Rice, Roasted Greek Potatoes, Traditional Greek Salad and sides of Garlic Bread. Meal was delicious!!!! Found out cook was a female and kudos to the chef. Salad was magnificently dressed with a good hit of vinaigrette and the Meat was so tender & perfectly charred and the sides closed the deal. Recommend highly.
This a takeout review for their 2 for 1 Tuesday promotion that I picked up today. The food was good and prepared fresh and the service was quick. The overall value on the Tuesday promo was well worth it as you got 2 Large Pork Dinners for around $25 tax in which was more than fair. I’m not sure if I’d say the same if it was $25 each because their takeout containers are quite small and it seems you get way more for the same price when you dine in so if I was to pay full price I’d much rather prefer to dine in. As for the 2 for 1 Tuesday special I still think it’s a great deal for the price so I will most likely order it again one Tuesday if the promotion is still on
We dine-in on a quiet Tuesday night. Server was attentive and food was great. Be sure to check out their Monday/Tuesday takeout specials, they have great offers
For my first experience, I loved the place. John was my server and he did an extraordinary job, checking on me in timely manner, bringing my food and ensuring everything is great. The food was phenomenal. I had Grilled Calamary, which was amazing. The lamb chop was tasty and cooked to my liking, with delicious tzatzski and their Kaiser Chicken Grill burger is superb. I had an amazing time here and the atmosphere is relaxed, clean and the Greek music is a joy to listen. I'll be back soon to try the rest of the menu. 10/10
This is the first time I went to this location but I've been to the one on Danforth so many time for the last 25yrs! I think this new location is ok, nothing outstanding or too bad from service to food! The price is a bit high for Greek food but they do have BOGO 50% off on Tuesday! We ordered 5 dishes 2 Lamb and 3 pork souvlaki, the meat are all over cooked on all these 5 dishes but the taste is not bad, I hope they can do better next time! Anyway, we did have a good time there because I was with my family's! Oh, to the owner, please change the curtains to the one that can block the sun please!
My go to place for souvlaki as they are only located about 10 mins from me. Located by the Costco on Elgin Mills and Leslie, has spacious parking. Interior is nice, bright and clean. They have a bar section and a dining room with lots of booth options. The service here is always amazing. Never had a bad experience here. Their tzatziki sauce is my absolute favourite, if you're a fan of garlic this is it. Heavy garlic flavour, thick and creamy. Their souvlaki's are always tender and juicy. You can order the small or large dinner that comes with tzatziki sauce, pita, Greek salad and your choice of sides. They also serve saganaki which is a Greek fried cheese that they bring table side and light up and yell OPA. A cool fun experience. They offer express lunch menu for about $12-13 which comes with either Pork or Chicken Souvlaki served with Greek Salad, tzatziki, pita and your choice of a side between roasted potatoes, rice or fries.
The place was empty. The food was good. I was concerned about freshness because they were empty but it turned out fine. They nickel and dime for every little add-on. They charged us $2 for ONE pita, that they cut into 5 pieces. A little disappointed by that considering the overall cost of the meals. Inflation aside, if you’re hurting for $2 perhaps you need to revisit your pricing/company/invoicing structure.
Today we went there for lunch. Unfortunately, the table was dirty. Asked waiter to clean it. 2 centimeter slice of grilled salmon for $22. We ordered Mousaka and salmon. The meals were not delicious. Unpleasant smell of meat and food in the atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant was cold. In 3 women washrooms there aren’t any bath tissue. Horrible experience. Won’t go there NEVER EVER.
I ordered two small pork souvlaki dinners a few weeks ago and they were charred to a crisp. Management was understanding and informed me to request that the pork be cooked medium and not well done. Ever since then, the pork souvlaki’s are perfection.
