I was banned originally due to having a service dog. initially she was in training so I understood a bit. but after speaking with head office and going back when she was more fully trained they decided to continue to ban me from only that location I'm allowed at any other one, with my dog. Just not at the Sicamous location. They refuse to acknowledge that my service dog is a service dog and keep calling her a pet I actually am in human rights recourse against them so I won't say much more. but it was so bad oncegot another customer bought my groceries for me and apologized on behalf of the store manager when she saw how he was speaking to men#rude #humanrights #overpriced #entitled

Typically I love supporting local businesses, and my time in Sicamous BC has made me grown to love this little grocery store, the calm and warming environment to the fresh produce, it’s been a dream. Recently I went in and had quite a miserable time. I was greeted in the deli by a girl who I know now to be named Jasmine. She had a frown on her face, didn’t seem enthusiastic in the least, and just flat out lacked basic customer service. I felt mistreated and hurt by this as ive been nothing but loyal to Askews. The other teenagers in the store are incredible, I know it can be hard as a first time job but this was quite upsetting. Her lack of decency and respect saddens me.

I love to support local and the friendly staff and service here are excellent.nThey have a great little bakery and deli and a good selection of produce as well as name brand food products throughout the store, Unfortunately they don’t really cater to an Asian style diet so pickings are a very slim in that department with just the bare minimum generic and cliche items available also vegetarian or vegan items are extremely difficult to find,nAlthough the produce section is well stocked with basic fresh items.nI really want support this place more but I find the pricing in most cases is at least 30% more than they should be and seem dedicated to Tourist trap style pricing rather than catering to local residents, this is especially noticeable in the dairy and meat departments but also in the snacks, prepare to pay full rocket for pop or juice and snacks, which on average are 40% more than the norm.nI really believe and wish that they would work with their suppliers to develop better pricing for their local customers many of whom are elderly and are unable to travel to Salmon Arm or Vernon for a lower grocery bill, most locals who can, choose to purchase their groceries elsewhere because of the high prices here, this is sad because Askews clearly loses business because of this.nThe trick with Askews is to pick and choose carefully, wait for deals and support them where you can.
