Decent place in the university plaza to get ramen. The broth was delicious and had good flavouring and there was good toppings but nothing spectacular. Services was decent and friendly. Value for food was a tad more expensive given the quality a bowl of ramen was $14, however the portions for the udon dish was quite large.
Service was okay. The place was completely empty though so I expected a little more care. The food was alright, but overpriced I think. I had the ramen first menu item for $15 + tax but it didn't even seem to come with proper ramen noodles. I've never left a review before, but the 4 large sized pieces of egg shell mistakenly put in the ramen made me gag after eating. To me that's unacceptable. Ate one by mistake, after the next 3 I stopped eating entirely. Killed my appetite. It's the only restaurant I've been to that has made me not want to finish a meal. Bummer because my friend really likes the meat used in the ramen, but I can't bring myself to come back. Apologies for the gross looking tissues-- I had to spit out my food a few times because of the shells. The attached photo is just for scale on how large the shells were. Personally, I would always choose to go next door to MoMo if I wanted Japanese. It tastes better, is cheaper, and is of higher quality.
I ordered initially the chicken shio ramen with no egg or ear wood, I got the pork ramen. I am a Muslim who cannot eat pork and when I tried to explain that they couldn't understand. When I got my initially ordered dish it still had egg and earwood after saying no egg and earwood twice, it tasted warm at best, the chicken looks pink and has 0 flavor like I cooked up my own Mr. Noodles.
Ok at best. Nothing to get excited about. Aesthetically, the food and restaurant itself look really nice, but truthfully it was nothing special in the slightest. The food was bland, the egg that came with my ramen still had large pieces of shell on it, so my meal was ruined. I think the waiter said a total of ten words to us, never came by to refill our drinks or ask if everything was going smoothly. Thank goodness my boyfriend had his water or else I would have gone the entire rest of my meal thirsty. On top of that some of our food never came. When we paid, it took them a total of three seconds to start clearing our table for the next guest while we were still sitting. In all, it’s fine in a pinch. Go to downtown Kitchener instead for a better experience/quality.
Their ramen was not bad. Just the noodles were a little bit overcooked. Decor was dated. Service was okay.Food: 4/5
Can taste the pork from the broth itself which is nice. Thick cut meat was a pleasant surprise. Noodles were a little meh but that could be because I ordered take out.
Ramen did not match picture. Noodle was thin instead of thick. Egg was solid, not liquid. Noodle was over cooked and broke very easily, the soup didn't taste good either. Was given a drink for free.
Their green onion pancakes were quite good. The ramen was ok. Service wasn't that great and they messed up the bill. While we were leaving they realized they made a mistake and called us back into the restaurant. Their mistake was that they charged our entire group $1 less than they should have we all tipped too. So they made us stay an extra 10 mins to find out which person owed the extra dollar and we finally got to leave. No one was particularly mean or rude but the waiter and owner were really awkward and the food was just ok. Vegetarian options: They had a vegetarian ramen with a mushroom-based broth. It was ok, nothing special. The noodles were nice and thin and cooked well.
Probably one of the worst ramen places I've had. Their meat was very flavourful but the broth tasted like cream, water and chicken broth and the noodles were the same as the ones you get in the Mr noodle packs. Very disappointing
The food is not even good and it’s way more expensive than other restaurants of the same cuisine. Their ramen eggs are not even marinated. They’re just poorly boiled eggs. The teriyaki chicken and rice meal has no seasoning other than mediocre teriyaki sauce on the chicken. The miso was a muddy brown instead of the normal cream colour and tasted wrong too. I do not recommend the food at all.
